Good for her! Avril Lavigne is going to temporarily put her singing making career on hold as she takes on her first lead role on the big screen. She's done previous work with small parts in Fast Food Nation and The Flock, but this will be the first time she's starring!

"I've got a film role coming up - something you wouldn't expect from me, something deep and dark."

i don't know if i can get past my disgust for her to actually see a movie she is in. Just pictures of her piss me off. she is NOT punk rock in the least and she makes me sick claiming she is. She is pop-punk at best. And like Shel said...A BRAT!
I'm sorry but she never has made that claim. A lot of the stuff the media portrays about her isn't true. I'm doing a paper on her for school and a lot of what I'm finding is how much the media portrays her as a Pop Punk Rock Princess.. when in truth.. she never said anything of the sort for herself.

She's pretty unintelligent and not well-spoken at all so I can't imagine her positively contributing to a movie role.
She's done alright in the past and has had 3 successful albums. I say she's got it in her. Give her a chance.

I don't think anybody was saying she didn't sell albums. People were saying she is an little ignorant brat, which, if you've ever seen her interviewed, is the truth. Anyone who turns around and spits on people and then laughs, or calls people names and insults them for seemingly no reason (oh, I'm wrong, I think she does it 'cause she's "punk") is rude and ungrateful for what she's been given. And she does have rat teeth. That is also a fact. So it's you who has some wires crossed here, in calling some bloggers pathetic and superficial.
