Gavin Rossdale Tops Best Celebrity Dad List

Gavin Rossdale Tops Best Celebrity Dad List

This is one "best dad" list that Kevin Federline hasn't won... shocking.

In Touch Magazine has crowned Gavin Rossdale as best celebrity dad for 2008. This year's runner up was Ryan Phillippe and I am completely behind those two choices! You always see these men out with their children and not trying to make a spectacle out of it either.

Who else made the list?

Tom Cruise (came in third), David Beckham, Adam Sandler, Jack Black, Will Smith and Ben Affleck.

Did they miss anyone?

Didn't Gavin abandon his bastard daughter Daisy Lowe after he found out he was her father a couple of years ago? Hardly Best Dad material.

What is this "best dad" based on anyway? How good looking the dad is? how much money he brings home? how much time he spends with his kids? I think those lists are total crap.

I hope his daughter doesnt see that list! What a slap in the face! Imagine your deadbeat father that abandoned you and refuses to have any contact with you making "best dad" list! WTF?!

charlote charlote said:

Best dad lol... not in my book. He totally abandoned his daughter Daisy and does not have contact with her.
Kevin is a much better dad imho (he tries to keep contact w/all of his children)

InStyle needs to do their homework much better in the future.

Does everyone remember DAISY LOWE? I don't know how he can be crowned Best Father when he has no involvment in the life of his other child. Being a deadbeat dad to one kid, while being the complete oppoiste to the other is wrong. I read an article where Daisy talked about not seeing him (and it seemed like there was an insinuation that Gwen was jealous of Daisy, which wouldn't be a suprise) and it was sad. She seemed really hurt with the fact that she has never met Kingston.

I agree with the above bloggers. He wasn't around much for his daughter. It's amazing how many "celebrity" fathers are lauded for being great fathers when there are children from previous marriages/relationships in the background who are certainly not receiving the attention from their father as the current "in child". But it's all spin anyway to keep them in the public eye. The real men to be admired as fathers are the "non celebrity" fathers who support and love their families without the need for accolades. My own Dad would be at the top of the list, as would my husband!

Actually, the news reports I've read state that their relationship became strained when, in 04, he found out he was actually her biological father. Before then, he was her godfather. The switcharoo had to be confusing as heck for him as well as Daisy. I wouldn't say the whole thing is entirely Gavin's fault -- Daisy has to come off some of her attitude towards his wife, yanno. No man worht his salt will sit there and let anyone -- includiong his children -- mess with his wife.

Not that I believe Gavin shouldn't keep trying to have a relationship of some sort with his daughter, because she /is/ his child. From a one night stand, but still, he does bear a responsibility to her to try. Which he may or may not be doing.

We don't live with these people, we don't know what's /really/ going on -- and all we've heard from on this situation is Daisy and her mother calling Gavin a deadbeat. Not a word from Gavin that I know of, which leads me to believe that Daisy and Pearl are being nastier than needed for no good reason. I've seen enough mothers fill their kids with bitterness toward their fathers just because the mother wanted what the father couldn't or wouldn't give her.
