Anne Heche Has To Pay $3700 A Month In Child Support

Anne Heche and her soon to be ex husband Coley Laffoon have finally reached a divorce settlement. Court papers have Anne paying out a one time $275,000 lump sum to Coley and then $3,700 each month moving forward for child support. The couple shares a 6 year old son. Prior to the agreement, Anne was shelling out $15,000 a month in child support, so the decrease is quite significant.
Under the settlement, Heche, 38, also will pay 75 percent of son
Homer's private school tuition and half of "agreed-upon extracurricular
activities" for the boy, according to L.A. Superior Court papers.

I think it sucks that she's gotta pay so damn much. This guy should have to get a job! I hope she gets a new gig soon. Although I'm sure he'll probably take her back to court for more $$ then.

Um, please don't insinuate that I'm only on "her side" because she's a woman. Not a chance. Yes, I would say the same thing if it was a man. I think it's ridiculous how much some of these actors pay per month! Anne doesn't make that much money..that was my issue. And I don't believe that just because someone leaves their spouse for another person that they should be punished monetarily for it. None of us REALLY know what happened and the reasons behind it.

From what I understand the father stays at home to care for his son. It seems unfair when a woman has to pay support yet I've yet to see much sympathy for any man who's had to pay child support. It's your child, any parent should want to see that their child is taken care of. It's only money.

There's got to be a reason she doesn't have custody, so I think it's fair she pays and that doesn't sound like much compared to what most actors pay.
Maybe next time she'll reconsider dropping the person she's supposedly committed to (first Ellen, now her soon-to-be ex) for whomever she's working with. She left Ellen for this guy, and she left this guy for someone she met on Men in Trees (James Tupper). If I were James Tupper, I'd be scared of who her next costar is.
And I agree with Mr. T: If Anne's ex was a big star and he left her alone with her kid so he could go bumping uglies with his latest costar, all the women would be outraged and we'd be saying she deserves every penny she could get in child support.

As far as I remember, he works, but he doesn't make near the money she does as an actress. And she lost custody, didn't she? Or did she relinquish? I can't remember that part. Anyway, not that that figures into the financial aspect, but that doesn seem like a pretty low amount for her to have to pay. And I was disgusted when she petitioned the court about payment. The way the courts are, I thought maybe she'd get off without having to pay at all. Believe me, I've worked in the court system and I've seen it.

While I think she should pay child support if he is in fact the primary parent I recall reading about this separation when it first occurred and her husband was asking the court for 33k per month in just spousal support (not child support). Keep in mind this is a man who made 6k per year as a videographer. He hit pay dirt. And he filed for divorce, not Anne and she and her co-star she began dating claim to have started their relationship only after they were single. But who really knows with these people?
