Carrie Underwood Doesn't Think She Is Sexy

I'm marking this down to a bad case of low self esteem. Carrie Underwood is beautiful, intelligent, talented and successful. What ABOUT that ISN'T sexy? When asked by Cosmopolitan about her status as a sex symbol, Carrie talked about how awkward and gassy she really is.
"I don’t consider myself sexy… I’m kind of a nervous person in general. I’m socially awkward. I’m not tall and sensuous. I usually wear sweats everywhere I go. Oh, and I burp a lot!"

Just because you don't think you are sexy doesn't mean you have low self esteem. When some people think sexy they think Angelina, Beyonce...not Carrie. Maybe one day she'll see herself that way but I don't think it means she has low self esteem...maybe she just thinks she's pretty.
she defineitely has self-esteem issues, she's always talking about how she isn't happy with the way she looks. I feel like she's just fishing for compliments. I hate that.
Just because a person tells someone they think they are ugly, unsexy, fat etc. doesn't mean they are looking for compliments. I tell people that I feel I am not beautiful and a lot of times they laugh it off because they all say you know you are really beautiful and don't take me serious when all I want is someone to listen to me so I can vent and get things off my chest. I cry because I feel nobody believes me and feel they can just throw compliments at me and I'll be happy....
I think she is really pretty and yes she may have low self esteem BUT at the same time the only chicks that think they are sexy usually aren't. I would love to see Carrie without a palate of make up on I think she would look better.

I don't think of her when I think sexy, but I don't think she is beautiful. Just because you don't see yourself as sexy doesn't mean you have low self esteem. I think she has insecurities just like all of us women.

I think she's cute, but not sexy. I believe she does has a low self-esteem, because I do recall reading that she keeps a journal of everything she eat and watches her weight very carefully. She's obsessed with that. Also she mentioned that she was a nervous person, which tells me that she's always worrying what people think of her. She doesn't sound like a confidence person to me.

There's nothing wrong with keeping a food diary, and it has nothing to do with self-esteem. I challenged myself to write down every nibble and crumb I eat and the results were a little surprising! You're only as good as the "fuel" you put into your body. It's not about appearance, it's about being healthy.
I don't think she has low self esteem, I just think she's not full of herself. I'm sure she doesn't always have a lot of control over her life and I wonder if the food journal is more about her having something of that she can control; not necessarily healthy, but understandable.
If she were to say she's sexy, we'd just be on here debating whether she has too big of an ego or not... If I had people asking me about my appearance, I really don't know how I'd answer - that has to be awkward.
I really think that she's still getting used to being famous and having everything she does scruitinized and just tends to be extrememly honest in interviews... there are probably TONS of celebs that would say the same thing, but have a little bit more discretion. She did admit to opening her mouth about the text-message-breakup-incident, so who knows.

Carrie isn't very sexy, though she is extremely talented...In fact, I don't even think she is that pretty. She is slightly horse-faced, and it's nice to know she is just being realistic about her own looks. Good for her. At least she is not deluding herself!
Matt Damon was voted Sexiest Man Alive and he doesn't think he's sexy.
