Britney Spears Up For An Emmy

It’s the Emmy list that gets whittled down to the official list in September, but Britney Spears is on it!! Can you imagine if Britney wins an Emmy for her guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother?

For her double-shot guest appearance as Abby on CBS hit How I Met Your Mother, Brit-Brit is one of 41 actresses on the official ballot released by the Academy of Television Arts
& Sciences to its voters.

Other notable names also up for Academy consideration are Sarah Silverman for her guest shot on Monk; Mary-Kate Olsen, who won over many Weeds fans during her extended run as a pot-dealing Christian on the Showtime hit; Alyssa Milano for her role as Billie on My Name is Earl; and Scrubs star Sarah Chalke, who is on the ballot for guest-starring as Brit’s boss on How I Met Your Mother.

Does she have a chance?

    I HOPE SHE WINS!!

  2. angel says:

im sorry, but it takes many, many years to reach that kind of level as a performer…she should stick w/music…at least that’s halfway believeable…

  3. actualactor says:

Actors are nominated by roughly 3,500 other actors. Generally these actors have had at least some success in the television medium. Thousands submit themselves and this makes it really difficult to get nominated, it really is about how many academy members you know. These actors will skip right by Britney’s name in favor of a break out performance, or more likely they will vote for a personal friend. Sorry Brit, publicity only buys specific awards, “academies” are a whole different racket.

  4. Passerby says:

She doesn’t deserve an emmy WTF??!!

  5. Jen.number2 says:

I want Sarah Chalk to win! I wouldn’t mind if Britney got the nomination, but she’s not really an actress.

  6. Obsess Much says:

As some say down here in the south.. “ain’t a snowball’s chance in hell” she ever coud win an Emmy!

  7. Passerby says:

It was a cute guest appearance. I think she has a chance. With all the amazing reviews that actually came in for her, it wouldn’t surprise me. I’d love to see her win and actually have some positivity in her life.

  8. Passerby says:

NOT A CHANCE! She wasn’t THAT good. It was just ok her appearance.

  9. papyrus says:

She was not good at all. I really hope they dont give her an Emmy just because of who she is, she did not have a Emmy winning performance. I see how Katherine Heigl stepped down not to be on the list because she didnt think she did that great of a job to be nominated. Maybe she was trying to hint someone.

  10. audrey says:

Hardly award winning. There are so many very talented actresses and some very great guest appearances. This must be a slap in the face to them all.

  11. CapturingLife says:

She’s not in the “final” few. It’s just that her work was submitted. I doubt she’ll end up in the official nominee pool. It was a cute stint but not award-winning.

  12. Monkey Joystick says:

I caught the show just because of all the buzz going around about her being on it. Personaly I didn’t think she was that great. I too thought this is kind of a slap in the face to more serious actresses.

  13. maggie says:

Yes I agree, I think it’s an insult to someone with real talent. Britney is not an actress.

  14. robyn says:

She won’t win, but it would be SOOOO good for her if she could! I do hope she finds something to bounce back with.
