Someone's Character Is Going To Have An Accident...

We all heard that Katherine Heigl REMOVED herself from Emmy consideration this year claiming that the material she was given was not award quality. Some took that gesture as a big ol' slap in the face to Grey's production and writing staff. A source is claiming that the higher ups are especially insulted considering they rearranged their entire schedule to accommodate Katherine's filming dates throughout the year.

You do not want to upset the writing staff! They can give you cancer or have your car explode with the blink of an eye.

"The show bent over backwards to accommodate her film schedule, and then she criticises the show for lack of material? "It’s an ungrateful slap in the face to the very writers responsible for her Emmy win in the first place."

Here she is filming The Ugly Truth with Gerard Butler.

That's exactly what she wants though. To be out of her Grey's Anatomy contract so she can move on and do movies. She is hoping to piss them off enough so they end it early...if I were the writers I would let her character live and make her finish her contract just for insulting my writing. She's being unprofessional. I don't watch the show though so maybe the writing does suck but even still: a contract is a contract!

I don't get the hype surrounding this chick. She seems so full of herself and icky. I saw her on Oprah and she admitted to being somewhat of a handful, which was a nice way to say she is probably a total b*tch to everyone she knows if she is not the CENTER of attention. I just gather that she is crap and this story proves it. However, I loved the movie Knocked Up, but anyone could have played her part and it would have been equally as funny. I don't think she brings anything new to the table except that she is a new face in Hollywood. But she is getting old FAST! She is on her way out as I see it. I won't miss this one. I don't know of this actress or this show, so just speculating here, but a lot of actors/actresses become famous BECAUSE of these lowly TV shows, then they go on to be successful in movies, forgetting how they got started. And a lot of these famous people just do not appreciate how lucky they are.

I think she was famous before Grey's. Just not as big as she is now. I remember she started off doing movies, then the TV show Roswell(sp?) which, I think, made her at least known among some crowds.

She needs to remember these two words: David Caruso .

You know, I support what she did because they really kind of made a fool of her character in the beginning this season. Her character wasn't making any splashes like she use to, she was just kind of there and...annoying. I'm glad that she recognized that as well.

I totally agree with that. ..and even me, who use to never miss a single show, was desinterested during the last year..

I thought it was kind of noble for her to back out, but I've never understood the Kathrine Heigl appeal to begin with - she's not a stellar actress at all and yet people care what she has to say...she does absolutely nothing for me. AND she smokes like a chimney! EWWWW...

I don't understand myself. One minute I'm ready to leave my fiance for Gerard (like now), and the next, he's so-so to me. There's something about him that makes me want more! At least that's how i feel now..

1. Love her. Hope she gets exactly what she wants. Funny how people want others to succeed, just as long as they don't become too successful, then they're getting too big for their britches. The show sucks, has always sucked and she is too good for it. Also David Caruso quit and then started making suck-ass movies. She already has a movie career. 2. Gerard - HOT!

Becoming too successful does not equal "too big for their britches"......being arrogant and thinking you're better than you are, does. I love to see others succeed.

She's SO full of the drama. She thinks that she can and will get everything she wants because she's an actress. Well, I agree with everyone else saying that Grey's should keep her on the show and make her stick out her contract. I'm a fan of Grey's, but I think her acting and complaining as Izzie on the show has brought it down. Some people are made to over-act, and she really is. Not to mention, she isn't that great of an actress, IMO. Watch, she'll leave Grey's and go on to make crappy movies and then she'll wish she had actually enjoyed her time on Grey's and all the nominations she received.

Grey's Anatomy blows. If she's such a horrible actress they should be happy to get rid of her ungrateful Emmy-winning ass. Team Heigl!

I like so many others just don't get her appeal. I think she's a selfish, ungrateful bitch. I'd be happy to see her leave Grey's Anatomy. She's a lousy actress.
Passerby (not verified)Passerby (not verified) said:
Women hating on other women. How typical. Instead of thinking she's ungrateful, maybe think she wants other women on her show to win instead of her, since she's already won. But no, let's go for how much she sucks and how selfish she is for pulling herself out of the race so that someone else can have it this year. And if she's such a horrible actress why did she win an Emmy for best actress?
Passerby (not verified)Passerby (not verified) said:
Wah wah wah, what a crybaby. Her movies are all the same. Hopefully they'll kill her off of Grey's so she can't come back when she turns into Davis Caruso version 2.0!

She's trying to get out of her Grey's contract. Now that she knows that she can be successfull in the movie arena she doesnt always want to be known as Izzie Stevens like Jennifer Aniston is known as Rachel. She tried getting out earlier but her contract is iron clad, but if she makes them mad enough shes more likely to get killed off.
Passerby (not verified)Passerby (not verified) said:
She's been acting for like 15 years now; if her movie career has the opportunity to take off, why not see what can happen? I agree she should have filtered what she said to the reporters, but it's not like her PR person released this as a formal statement. She was being hounded by paparrazi while she was walking down the street and they asked why she removed herself from consideration. I have to ask, how much accomodating did the people at Grey's Anatomy really have to do? The writers were on strike until when, mid-January?? Come on.

Shes a smart cookie. She was looking to get out of the show because of her characters essential suicide with crap last 2 seasons. She herself said she doesnt know what Izzie is about now. But she cant get out of the contract because of its iron cladedness, so what does she do? She pisses off the writers, one sure fire way to get out of the contract if they kill her off or something similar. I can respect that, the writers at Greys are complete and utter asswipes. They think theyre better than the viewers with their plots and when that falls flat, they just humdum put crap otgether to please the masses. Its idiotic. I was a huge fan of the first 2 seasons, then it took a dive and its still kind of crap. Im glad she removed herself, she was only there for her acting talents, not because of what they gave her to work with. And I agree with the comment above mine, they accomodated her by doing what? Going on strike? How generous.

Leave the ingrate on Grey's anatomy - give her the most mundane story lines just to show her WHO really has the talent and control. Izzy is the most unlikable character on the show so simply minimize her speaking lines and keep her around. Let her sleep with random hot men If the writing was so bloody awful - why would she think she would actually be nominated for an Emmy??? She is simply not that talented. It's not like she has even gathered Oscar talk about her roles The only role she really can convincingly play is a spokesperson for chain smoking. Isn't her 15 minutes up yet?

Gerard Butler is getting fat.
Passerby (not verified)Passerby (not verified) said:
passerbykitty, you are aware that she has already WON an Emmy for playing Izzie, right? Keeping her around and teaching her a lesson would do nothing for the show and they'd still have to pay her. If she wants out, let her go.

Honestly, I agree with her. The show was great but Izzy's character has gone from loveable to annoying. Starting midway through last season and through the past season...she's just been annoying up until the last couple of episodes. I don't think she deserved Emmy nomination for her role.
