The Rock Gets His Star

The Rock Gets His Star

*Drool. Dwayne, "The Rock" Johnson got all spiffied up so he could be presented with his celebrity star by Johnny Brenden at the Brenden Theater in the Palms Casino Springs.

The Rock also took the time to accept a check on behalf of his foundation, and sign autographs for little kids. Awww, my heart is melting...what a nice guy!

And there's nothing better than a hot man in a good suit to brighten any Monday afternoon...am I right? :)

Uh, what are you talking about? He's given the star because of his charity work and what he does for kids. It would help for you to be more informed before making a comment. He's not just anyone, and he's not paying them a price tag. He's a wonderful human being and deserves it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollywood_Walk_of_Fame In order for a person to get a star on the Walk of Fame, he or she must agree to attend a presentation ceremony within five years of selection, and a $25,000 fee must be paid to the Trust for costs such as security at the star ceremony; a 2003 FOX News story noted that the fee is typically paid by sponsors such as film studios and record companies, as part of the publicity for a release with which the honoree is involved. Controversy and mystery surrounds the way the stars are nominated and approved, as discussed in a 2001 ABC News story that interviewed honorary Hollywood mayor Johnny Grant.
