Melanie Brown Wrote Revenge Song About Eddie Murphey

While pregnant with baby Angel, Melanie Brown was so frustrated with Eddie Murphey that she was inspired to write a song about it. The title is a play on one of Eddie's most famous movies.
"The working title is Beverly Hills C**k, because that’s what he is. He never bothers with his daughter. I mean, what kind of man is that?"
However, Brown admits Murphy’s lawyers will be "vetting the lyrics closely". So odds are the finished product will not closely resemble the original creation. Boo! Darn you lawyers!

Eddie should be ashamed of himself. Even if the child wasn't planned, it's not the baby's fault. She deserves to know her father. What a jerk!
"vetting the lyrics closely" - oH good heavens, whatever happened to the right to express yourselve however you choose?? If Mel wants to write & sing a song about Eddie, that doesn't paint him as the God he thinks he is, then it's her RIGHT to. Eddie, tell your lawyers to STFU.
It would be nice if Eddie would put this much effort into seeing his daughter instead of paying lawyers to protect his image.
I don't understand why she's so worked up about this. Eddie Murphy will obviously never be part of their daughter's life, so why force it? Just make him pay child support and be done with it. Angel's dad is now her new husband and has been there from the beginning. All this bitterness and hatred will not be good for the girl in the long run.
just because eddie rejected melanie doesn't mean he should reject their daughter. i don't get how someone rejects an innocent baby. eddie is a piece of work. but mel needs to get over it and stop bashing her child's father publicly.
I completely agree. I think it's wrong that he's rejecting his daughter. But at the same time, it's his problem, his decision. You can't force him to have a relationship with his daughter. She should instead focus on what she does have: a husband who loves her and her kids as if they were his own. She doesn't need a low life like Eddie Murphy and try to force him to be there for his daughter.
I agree! Eddie is a loser. Why force the issue? He'd probably be a terrible father anyway.
Riviera from you profile I see you have two kids and are married. If the shoe was on your foot I don't think you would be singing the same tune. It hurts when the father of your child doesn't want anything to do with your baby. You hurt for your baby because he or she doesn't know any better ...yet. Is not all about the money Riviera, is about being a responsible father and giving that child love, attention, nurturing and so on. Get a clue...
That would be something hard to get over, although I do agree about her needing to stop bashing Eddied in public.

Second, even tho Eddie is a a jerk for not being part of his daughter's life, why should the childs mother write a song about his dissing his child. Five years from now that little girl will be listening to that song. What a self esteem bost that will be! Mel, let it lie. Smile all the way to the bank. When IN ALL OF HUMAN HISTORY have men decided when a baby was gonna be born? Modern birth control has been around for almost 60 YEARS now. Before you get to sterilization or abortion...THERE ARE AT LEAST EIGHT BIRTH CONTROL OPTIONS for women. Oh yeah - that's right. It's the WOMAN's fault for getting pregnant. Us crazy cunning women, not like it takes TWO people. Not like the man has any say in where he's sticking it. Dudes, if you're unsure, wrap it up. Double wrap it. I'm completely over the "trapped, ruined life" argument. You lay down, you be prepared. If mommy and daddy didn't tell you, sometimes there are consequences for your actions. So now, no more excuses about the evil harlots being the ONLY ones in ALL OF HUMAN HISTORY to decide a baby is going to be born! If science would pay more attention to male birth control then erectile dysfunction maybe we'd have less simpletons like this bemoaning the evil woman holding all the cards and ruining everyone's life by having a baby. I call BS.
Not just men...My husband's ex-wife lost custody of their child and we tried to make her involved in the kid's life for YEARS, but she wouldn't and all it did was make me bitter and mad. And now I think it's better that the kid doesn't have a relationship with the mother. So, in many cases-- and I've heard that Murphy will not have anything to do with Angel because of the influence of Brown--I think it's just better for the kids if the other parent is not involved while they're young. Tough, but better. And a lot of divorced men say that: they give up the right/privilege/whatever of having a hand in raising their kids because of the overbearing influence of the mother. I know I'm going to get a lot of flak over this one, but I've been there, and it's true. Sometimes it's just better to walk away so everyone can live in peace. Maybe (or maybe not) he'll try to have a relationship with her when she's older.

just adding my two cents.. but according to mel b this was a planned pregnancy by her and eddie. she said something to the effect of "I had a child already and since my divorce i was reluctant to get seriously involved with a man and have another child, but eddie and i thought we were soulmates and decided to have one together. He was initially overjoyed, then he became paranoid and thought she was cheating and the baby wasn't his." I read that from her interview in ok magazine.
Um... Didn't Larry Flynt win a supreme Court case that would give Melanie the Right to write this song against eddie, because he himself is a public figure? As long as it doesn't start any blatent lies about him, and it's all just based on her opinion of him, or it tells the truth, his lawyers can't do **** to her, or it's unconstitutional.
