Heather Locklear Receives Treatment For Depression

Heather Locklear Receives Treatment For Depression

Heather Locklear's
publicist just confirmed to People magazine that the actress is currently in an Arizona facility seeking treatment for her depression and anxiety. Her publicist released the following statement to People

"Heather has been dealing with anxiety and depression. She requested an
in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical
facility for proper diagnosis and treatment."

"This is a confidential medical matter and no further
statement will be released."

Wow what a shocker! I hope the treatment goes well and she is able to sort out her issues. Does this mean there is truth to that call the police received about Heather being suicidal a couple months back?

Meds can make your condition worse if the dosage and combo is off. Trust me. I feel for her.

I suspect Heather might be suffering from early peri-menopause like me. Since I started getting menopause symptons, I suffer from anxiety and depression too. I also gave up meat and eat soy products and fish for protein and cheese for protein and calcium. Soy milk is great for hot flashes. Also getting plenty of exercise helps with depression too. I have a good life but it gets disrupted with depression and anxiety.

I suffer from early menopause too. Not only does soy milk help for the hot flashes and night sweats, but I've been mixing milled flax seeds with food, and that's helping as well. You can mix it with anything. Great source of fiber too.

Hope she gets herself better. I'm sure having your dirty divorce smeared all over the tabloids doesn't help any either.

Depression is real. Anyone that seeks help should get what they need. At least she's not self destructing or hurting others. Get well soon.

Hmmm...sucessfull, gorgeous and rich? Of course she's depressed! Who wouldn't be?

Your post only serves to exemplify the ignorance surrounding depression and associated mood disorders, such as anxiety. Material wealth and physical attractiveness are no guarantees that one is not at risk. Depression can be of many types. For some there seems identifiable cause, and it is thought that these people may have biological reasons for their low mood. These people often respond to antidepressant treatment more readily. For others, specific events and happenings in the person's life can be identified as the cause, and this is often called reactive depression. For these people, medication is less effective. Having suffered from Major Depressive Disorder and severe anxiety for the past 3 years due to a number of incidents which occurred in my life over which I had no control, I can only feel for Ms Locklear. The roller-coaster ride of trying various medications which mostly don't work while putting up with their side effects, the feelings of hopelessness while wanting desperately to return to the person you used to be, and the pain of being in such a dark place is not something I would wish on anyone. Only someone who has been there can really understand. No-one would choose to feel this way, believe me.

Sorry. I meant "for some there seems NO identifiable cause".

I feel sorry for her daughter. It's all Denise Richards fault!!!!

Passerby Passerby said:

Denise Richards is not at fault. It's so stupid and silly that some people claim she "stole" Heather's husband Richie. How can you "steal" someone's husband? Obviously he must not of been that much in love with Heather to begin with.

Maritza Maritza said:

Heather and Richie should get back together, they are both feeling miserable cause they miss each other. Forgive and forget I say...

Is Heather still with Jack Wagner? I didn't hear they broke up, but have not seen pics of them in public in a while. Does anyone know?

Good for her! As someone who suffers through generalized anxiety disorder, I know how hard it can be and how hard it is to explain to others. I do wish that public figures would talk about it more. I know we can't depend on them to do everything, but it really helps to de-stigmatize mental health issues and conditions.

Hi. Thanks for the post. I have quoted it on my Heather Locklear Bout of Depression post.

Passerby Passerby said:
