Victoria Beckham Takes On High Fashion

I thought the reason why Victoria Beckham's jeans didn't do so well is because she failed to self promote and they were too pricey? Now, the former Spice Girl is planning on adding $1,200 gowns to her fashion label. Yikes! She is obviously targeting a new client with this line.

This September during NY's Fashion Week, Victoria will unveil her creations. She promises to use "expensive fabrics and finishes" making the cost of these upscale dresses justifiable.

"It will be something completely different from what I’ve
ever done. I’m just putting it together at the moment, but they will be
very upscale dresses and likely will start at around $1,200 retail.

"I’m going to be using very expensive fabrics and finishes, lots of
embroideries."

Rriiiight. She failed the first time. Does she really think she's going to more successful the second time around by making her crap even more expensive? Hah.

I'm sorry, but all Posh portrays to me is that she is a money grubbing, fame hungry person. Yes, she dresses well, but she only wears the most expensive things, and considers herself a fashion icon...A fashion icon, in my opinion, is someone who wears the simplest of outfits (not designer duds)and make them their own and look good doing it. If you can go to walmart, target, or the goodwill, buy a couple peices of clothes, put a style together, look georgous wearing it, I say you are destin to be a fashion icon.

I think she is doing this more as a hobby because she is interested in fashion as opposed to seeing how well these things do on a retail scale. I think she should just design things to wear herself or for her friends to wear instead of selling on the mass market though. I am very eager to see her new upscale designs!

Whether or not Victoria's jeans have been a big seller is subjective, as I have read many reports claiming they have and continue to be a success, as well as the reports claiming that they haven't been well received?

Also Victoria doesn't only wear expensive clothes by the most well known designers, she has purchased and worn clothes from regular stores too, including the usual high street bargain shops, as well as purchasing clothes from second-hand stores.
Victoria is a fashion icon.

She needs to stick to shopping. No one is going to buy her tacky clothes.

Just cuz you are rich and can afford couture DOES NOT make you a fashion icon. Posh is pretty much a joke, so is her husband, they are just money hungry fame whores. He has had more plastic surgery then she has, its all so fuckin lame I cant believe people care. I just want them to go away, I am sick of reading about them and seeing them. She brings NOTHING to the table.

"they will be very upscale dresses and likely will start at around $1,200 retail." - so in other words Posh, these dresses are for the rich and tastless only? well at least your honest.

^^ VB's jeans are from size 0 - 10. they're normal sizes and are an extremely good fit. she made $30 million PROFIT from her line last year and it was the debut year for her DVB jeans - so not bad for her first year!!! the only people who say she failed are those who will hate on her no matter what!

I don't know if you live here in America but the average women is size 12 to 14. Victoria's jeans were made for women like her who don't eat, have no ass and are super skinny. Size 0-10 is for petite very skinny women, not your average american women. We have hips, thighs, butt and we are gorgeous!! BTW, what are we suppose to hate on Victoria? I can't live my life starving myself, I enjoy life, food is great!! Yummy.....

I don't live in America so I don't know how small size 0 would be.
The smallest jeans is called size 23 here in Japan.
Maybe size 23 is size 0?
Anyways I think she is very stylish.
It is not because she is rich and can buy everything she wants.
Even if you could buy the most expensive stuff, it doesn't mean that
you could be stylish like her.
You have to have a good sense.
I really like her.
And I am so glad that I have never seen her wearing fur.

Okay, all you people say that she just wears designer and she just burns money. First of all, you're just jealous that you can't do that. Secondly, even if you do buy designer stuff, what makes you think you'll look good in it? Like, hello? We have Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, H&M, and plenty of other stores...and not everything in those stores make us regular people look good. So what makes you think it's any easier to look good in designer clothes? And JUST because she's thin, you all say she doesn't eat and she's anorexic. Honest to God, some of you people out there, even if you starved for a week you wouldn't lose a single pound and you would still look as chunky as ever. And it's her life, who are you to judge whether or not her business in the fashion industry is successful or not? And she actually has some talent in the fashion industry. If she didn't, Marc Jacobs wouldn't have asked her to model for some of their products. If she didn't have talent, she wouldn't have been able to be recognized by so many high fashioned designers. At least she know what she's talking about. And seriously, you say that American women on the average are between size 12-14. Well have you looked at the health charts? And the fact that America has the fattest and most unhealthiest people on the face of this planet? Duh?! And on top of that, AMERICAN women on average are between size 12-14...what about women around the world? What if they don't need such big pants? She's not just marketing this for AMERICANS ONLY. Wake up and stop being so ignorant about your AMERICAN weight.
