That is so true! That's exactly how I found out about my melanoma. My boyfriend spotted it and urged me to get it looked at. I did, and they extirpated it right away. That was almost 4 years ago, and so far I'm clear! Hooray!
Wow, great commercial! My father died of Melanoma and it is so important to keep a watch on your skin. Even I should be more diligent than I already am.
This is fabulous. I'm happy to see so many celebs deciding to be good examples of health and well-being nowadays. In addition to self-exams, eat healthy and avoid bad habits. Drink Purple, observe meatless Mondays, quit smoking. And encourage others to do the same.
The other day you were commenting positively on Jennifer Aniston's bronzed, Californian look. The countless pictures of her tanning herself in a bikini indicate that she certainly hasn't heeded the sunsafe message. My son is doing post-graduate research into melanoma at a specialist cancer hospital, and what he reads, writes about and witnesses in his research is certainly not pretty. Tanned skin is merely a fashion and does not indicate health. In fact, you are risking your health in getting a tan. It is great that you are pushing this message today, Vera, but please be consistent. Ms Aniston's look is not something to aim for.
