Blake Lewis Dropped From Record Label

You watch the show, fall in love with several of the contestants and are SURE that they will succeed once failing to win American Idol. But typically, album sales are very poor for AI alumn. Blake Lewis is the latest victim, having been dropped by Arista Recods. Such a shame! I really liked him while he was a contestant.Â

That really dissapoints me. I loved Katherine's singles so I was always really surprised about her being dropped. I thought Blake Lewis would have been a big hit as well. Sometimes I feel as if doing Idol only comes out as a curse for contestants who do really well.
I wasn't surprised when I listened to a few of his songs online. Hated them. But I really liked him on the show and thought that he could do a pretty good mainstream type album. Oh well, maybe he will go do a Broadway musical, a lot of them seem to do well in that area.
It's the AI curse. Even if you dont win AI will still have control over EVERYTHING you do for "X" amount of years, you sign a contract before your first audition that waives all of your rights basically and lays out all of the ways they own you from then on. No one will ever be as successful as Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood. They were the lucky ones.
Basically all the "Idols." That show is a joke.
Didn't he slam Clay Aiken awhile back claiming he couldn't sing or something? Funny, I don't see CLAY being dropped...do you? Karma's a bitch, huh Blake? P.S: Yes.. I don't like Blake anymore. Can't you tell? =p
I was never a Blake fan so I can't say that I'm surprised. I hated the song he did as a guest on AI this year. It's too bad. I think he had enough talent but wasn't using it wisely. But then again, I'm getting to be an old timer who probably isn't in touch with what sells. I'm a huge fan of David Cook and love how he keeps the flavor of old school rock alive.
