Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves have welcomed a baby boy into the world Monday night. He was born at 6:22 p.m. in Los Angeles, weighing in at 7 lbs., 4 oz.
The pair have been dating for about two years. No word yet on the name of the child.Â
Update: Matthew has released a statement to OK! magazine:
Camila and I were side by side the entire time. We are both tired and elated, and are so happy to have created the greatest miracle in the world - having a child and making a family. Now comes the greatest adventure - raising one, together."

YAY! A boy!! He just seems so perfect to have a son - a little "surfer dude" to hang out with dad!! Can't wait to hear what they have named him - hopefully something strong and not crazy!

Ill bet she's singing the Hallelujah chorus right now! I've never seen anyone so ready to have a baby in my life! I never really doubted they'd have a boy. Grats to the happy mom and dad!

I really hope he doesn't choose to follow his brother's footsteps and name his kid after a beer. (His nephew is Miller Lyte McConaughey.)
I'm not saying it's better to have a boy at all but there's lots of research to show that the lower the woman and man's combined ages, the higher percentage that they'll have a boy. Look at all the older Hollywood moms, most of them have girls. Guess there'll be a lot of girls looking for boys in the next Hollywood generation!

Levi Alves McConaughey is the baby's name. Alves being the middle name, and not an abbreviated last name. I love it. I cant wait to see the little one. And what's all this uproar about his shorter arms? I honestly dont see them being THAT much shorter than normal length. Either way, he's a very sexy man.
