Michelle Williams Making Heath Ledger Film For Her Daughter
Jul 11, 2008 AT 09:08 am

Michelle Williams fears that Matilda is too young to really remember her father. So in order to make sure her daughter will know Heath Ledger as she grows older, the actress is planning on making a movie about his life.
"It makes Michelle’s heart ache that Matilda was so young when Heath died and she’s unlikely to retain any memories of her father. "She (Williams) wants to keep his spirit alive with something Matilda can treasure all her life."
I think it's a wonderful idea and since she has the means and connections to do it, why not?

For sure, it's lovely! and.. let's say it, the little girl is really the spitting image of Heath... incredible... J.
aww, that is such a great idea..Wish I could have one of my daddy.
What kind of movie?! A home movie of Heath, or like...a blockbuster based on his life...I'm confused.
She looks just like Heath. How beautiful. Stay strong Michelle!
OMG, look at her. She is like his little clone. So cute!
I hope they include a lot of actual film of Heath himself in it. What a great gift!
Its the best gift she could have. Especially when she's older. She will really appriciate it. Matilda could show it to her children. What a great idea. It will also show her how much he was loved by his fans! Me being a big one since "10 Things I Hate About You"
How adorable little Matilda is!! She looks just like her daddy. I think Michelle is very strong and a good mother.
All I can say is that Matilda is a spitting image of her father. Melissa xO
Ledger was a worthless drug abusing ****. He dies not ensuring that his daughter will be cared for and people put this dick on a pedestal. I'm sorry he doesn't deserve the adulation.
Wow... bitter much? I don't usually respond to comments, but I really don't think it's appropriate to vent your anger on a story like this. I'm sure that no matter what the circumstances, Matilda loves her father and will continue to do so. I think her mother is doing a wonderful thing by ensuring that her daughter will know her father. I'm sure there are a lot of children out there who wish they could know their fathers. By the way, a friend of mine died at 17 from an accidental drug overdose from combining 2 medications and I still love him. So yes, I do know what I'm talking about. That was 11 years ago and I would love to have a film of him. I don't much care if you don't like Heath Ledger, this story is about his family, who love him.
Bitter not, just tired of having worthless celebes shoved down my throat. Really, other than you and your friends who gives a crap about your friend. None of this takes away from the fact that Ledger was irresponsible when it came to his child.
If you're sick of "worthless celebs' being "shoved down your throat," why exactly do you read this website? That wasn't a put down, I'm genuinely curious. And oh, my friend's family cares a lot, just like Heath's does. Unlike probably a lot of people, I don't know what drugs were in his system and I refuse to speculate on why they were there. This particular story isn't about him, per se, it's about Michelle Williams wanting her daughter to know her father. And I'm sorry, but it's not about you, either. It's pretty easy to see from your attitude (who cares about my friend? that was *so* nice of you, like omg! ...right) that you obviously get upset over these "worthless celebs." Why? Does this strike a chord for any particular reason? Are you not registered because you're new or you don't plan on coming back or because you like to hide behind anonymity? You can throw whatever insults you want my way, whatever, how you choose to make your points reflects far more on you than the person you're insulting. Have a nice day. :)
My point is that Heath Ledger is being presented as if he were some exalted person. He was a man, one who made mistakes, yes, he died and that's unfortunate for his family and his fans. However, stop trying to make this guy into some sort of a saint. There are numerous videos of him abusing drugs and he was so irresponsible with his personal life. Just a little perspective should be used in these issues. The want to turn these people into Gods and that's not the reality.
Wouldn't that have been easier to say in the first place? I don't know about his personal life - I've enjoyed his movies and I think he was a good actor, but beyond that, I don't speculate. Perspective should be used in all issues, after all, "we see the world how we are, not how it is." I agree that celebrities shouldn't be turned into Gods that can do no wrong simply because they're in a movie or TV show. That's kinda silly. :) I've never been one to to think that someone was bigger the life simply because they're an entertainer. Maybe it was the promoting for bands in my early 20's, who knows? I just think it's a nice idea for Michelle Williams to put together something so that Matilda can get to know her father and I feel for his family and friends. It sucks to lose someone you love and I know the feel all too well, so I can empathize. I think we all should be able to.
If this is a private affair, like simply making it for her daughter and Heath's family, then yeah that sounds like a very nice thing to do. But if she plans to make like some sort of feature film documentary about his life that the public can go see, then I find that kind of disgusting...like profiting off the dead, and especially profiting off the dead father of your child...that would just be wrong...
