Rumor: Angelina Jolie's Twin Pictures Fetch $11 Million From US Magazine

Well, if that isn't breaking a record, then I don't know what will. $11 million is the rumored amount Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have negotiated the first picture rights for Vivienne and Knox.
Does Ok! Magazine have that kind of dough? I'm thinking it was People who won the bidding war. Only time will tell. And yes, all the money is going to charity.

I'm happy about the news of the birth of the Jolie-Pitts new son and daughter, but these reports about selling the babies pictures make me feel sad! I think Angelina and Brad should just post some of their own shots of their newborn on the internet and out an end to the ridiculous bidding wars.

Its a lot of money. If I was US mag I would make sure the mag was sold behind the counter only this month. I don't know anyone who acturally buys those magazines when you can read them in the stores for free. I would only buy one where if in 25 yrs or so it would bring me some money.
Actually I find the whole thing ridiculous, and as someone has already said ... How on earth can the mag afford such a large sum? Why are photos of a couple of babies considered to be worth so much? How do Angelina and Brad justify their decision to sell their babies images? I am just curious. I don't think greed is a particularly pleasant characteristic. I hope it's not like last time when their daughter Shiloh was born and it was claimed that the money from her first pictures would be donated to charity ....... and it wasn't, for many months. The money was reported to have been donated by Jolie-Pitt's people, and it wasn't until the charity involved said that they had not received a penny that the foundation was even set up. Anyhow, it makes my mind boggle the way people in the civilised world; the west, put a price on absolutely everything, after all money is only pieces of dirty paper.
why the double standard on the Pitt's baby pictures? J-LO, Nicole Richie, Mathew MacChonauhey and even Britney's sisters sold their baby pictures and they're not even giving some to the Charity and it's alright but when it comes to brad & angelina all crap from you haters? I'd rather that the money goes to the charity than to some paparazi and magz. And the money re Shiloh pics did not reach the people that supposed to get the money?? post the link and not talk out of your ass and thin air.
It's sickening, and I'd like to see proof that the money goes to charity before I jump on the Brangaloonie bandwagon. I wish everyone would start boycotting these magazines, not give them one cent.

How dumb of that magazine! There is no way they will ever recoup that much cash from magazine sales! Fifteen Million Dollars?....bet that was put out by the Jolie-Pitt publicity team. I enjoy seeing photos of the new celebrity babies, but i don't feel any need to pay cash to see them. Eventually they will be seen out and about, and that is satisfactory to me. I'm glad Angie Jo had a normal c-section delivery, and all went well; however, i was more excited to read about Nic Kidman-Urban's much waited for baby girl Sunday Rose. And! Did you notice?....No huge publicity machine pumping up the fans for it's arrival?....lol

Welcome to 2008. It's not the magazines that bring in the dough nowadays. I'd be willing to bet that they make more money from people going to their website to check out the pictures. Advertisers buy ad space on websites and shell out big bucks based on how many people visit the site. Same concept as tv. Thing about the Superbowl and how much those ads cost. Why? Because there's guaranteed to be millions of people watching.
You are correct. The media, including rag mags, no longer make their profits from circulation and readership, but the advertising dollar which can be attracted. Have you noticed that with a lot of so-called "women's magazines", the distinction between true editorial content and adverising is becoming increasingly blurred, hence the newly coined term, advertorial? For some reason, these two American actors and their bizarre, hypocritical lifestyle as portrayed in an ever-expanding media circus, (significantly contributed to by themselves), are seen as a potential goldmine for magazines, etc trying to compete for advertising. Of course the money will be donated to charity, as it would destroy any credibility they have left if it were not. However, the mere fact that an organization is prepared to pay such a huge amount of money for the pictures of the offspring of one particular couple shows just how ludicrous the cult of celebrity has become, and the extent media organizations will go to exploit it in their never-ending quest for increased profits.

Reports like these makes me respect even more those A-listers who never paraded their kids like showdogs (ie; Halle, Depp, Kidman, etc.). I certainly wont buy those magazines rags with pics of stars pimping their children (Im talking about the Crazycruises, Jolie-Pitts, etc.)
I agree.They are disgusting they are both famous for their private lives. Even Madonna one of the biggest media whore in Hollywood didn't use her kids.She is bigger than these 2 idiots combined.And is mainly famous for her "work" they are both famous because of their private lives/family.Jolie wasn't really big before she started fuc*king Pitt,nobody cared about her. You are right nobody is interested why? Because all these people live private lives.Brangelina love the photo ops and they became super famous because they promoted their children and couple. Nobody cares about Johnny Depp's kids because he don't want it.Brad and Angelina crave the attention especially Angelina.
I haven't heard of any other recent celeb baby parents giving ANY money to charity. I respect them for it. The others are greedy.
Wow, that's a lot of money!!!! While I like Jolie and I wish her all the best, it seems like they are the one who stir up the media frenzy(ex. that press conference by their OB). I have to agree with Anna W on this matter and there are so many ways to raise funds for charity without involving your children. Gosh, I even forgot that they can afford to give that same amount of $$.
In my opinion, it's really not the Pitt's giving to charity...it's the magazine.

The money went into their own fund the Jolie Pitt Foundation, which is not the same as giving to charity. They did the same thing with the $6.5 million from Shiloh's photos. Funny they BRAG about donating 1/3 of their income to charity but they highly publicized their donating in 2006 as $8 million yet over $6 million was from Shiloh's photos. So, where does the 1/3 come in? They like to collect the interest from all the donated millions for photos, then later donate part of the money and take all the credit ...all over again. These two are SO PHONEY! How 'bout Angelina saying they both fight about who has to go to work because they both want to stay home with the kids. Yet, he is set to be in more movies, and she is already talking doing more movies. (she's a lousy actress) So, aparently she's lying again (as usual) just like when she said she was taking a year off to help acclimate Pax after his adoption. That never happened. Also, although she has vehemently denied in vitro last August when she and Brad were fighting and it was rumored that he was leaving her, she was seeing a fertility specialist remember the photos? Also, remember the talk of her deliberately trying to get pregnant to hang on to Brad and her saying she had to see a fertility specialist since she was having trouble getting pregnant because she didn't have enough weight on her to get pregnant? Remember her lying about breast feeding Shiloh she was too skinny to breast feed and came out with the truth over a year later. Or, how 'bout when she said she "accidentally" got pregnant with Shiloh then, when it was talked about by people as "irresponsible" she suddenly went public with the "truth" about deliberately getting pregnant with Shiloh because she knew Brad would be a good father. She lies constantly about everything and contradicts herself over and over and over. She needs to close her legs, close her mouth, and stay the hell out of the United States ......most people are sick of her except for the lunatics on Just Jared.
