Brad Pitt Was Emotional During Birth Of Twins
I have a feeling Dr. Sussmann is really enjoying his moment in the limelight. My guess is the hospital is going to do everything in their power to keep Angelina Jolie in the facility for as long as they can. That way should he want to hold another press conference, there will be reason to do so. Although births are handled differently in Europe than in the US.
"She will stay for a few days. You know, in Europe it isn't like in
the United States, where the patients go home after three days. They
will stay a bit longer until everything is okay."
The doctor told the press that the couple "were talking, they were together," during the birth of Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon.
"It was an epidural, so [Angelina] was awake and speaking and laughing. They were happy."
Pitt never left Jolie's side – "he was my assistant!" Sussmann said jokingly – and even cut the babies' umbilical cords."He was ... perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional," said Sussmann.
So the end result of the meeting? Everyone is doing wonderfully - babies and parents.
"The babies are fine. The babies are with the mother and father and they are fine."
The Mayor of Nice also decided to take part in all the fun. He made
an official presentation of the twins' birth certificates to the
hospital, and had Angelina presented with a large bouquet of white roses and lilies.
"It's a pride to Nice and all its citizens. On behalf of
the inhabitants of Nice, I congratulate the happy parents, the most
famous couple of the world who have chosen our city for this happy
event.""I also congratulate the four brothers and
sister of the newborns who are [history won't forget it] real 'Niçois'
('citizens of Nice')."
Press conferences? Mayors presenting birth certificates? $11 million
baby shots? I don't know. Has it gone too far? However, I am one of
those people who is interested in the details. So I guess I shouldn't
complain.

I'm glad that all went well for them. In the end, no matter what one's opinions of the parents are, it is good to hear that the babies were delivered safely and are healthy. ~ Nyx ~

OMG, what is with all this press conference! Some things should remain private. But then again, they live on all this attention they're getting. Weird!
I was glad to hear about the delivery, what they named the children and that they were born healthy, but I'm sure this will play out way too long and I will get tired of hearing about it. Nothing against Brad or Angelina personally, just overkill of their lives in general. Just my opinion.
It's just too much info for what should a private event. I don't understand what the big deal is.
I think its really pathetic that this is deemed 'important'. Big deal another skank who is unmarried got knocked up and had twins. Okay. As many of you faithful readers know, I DON'T hate these two at all, but a PRESS CONFERENCE and a bestowal of CITIZENSHIP is a tad extreme. These babies are no more miraculous than any others. I don't care how gorgeous and famous they already are. I WILL say, however, that I think it's awesome how Brangelina are contributing whatever sum they get for the first photos to charity. Did f**king J-Lo do that? God, no. She probably used that money to purchase beaver baby blankets and goat's blood or something.

Agreed. Why does Nice have to bestow citizenship and all this attention on babies? They are babies and the parents did nothing more stop there to have them. I really think this is severe overkill. Fingers crossed all these priviledged kids dont end up like the current screwed up hollyweird kids ! Seriously how is one expected to be grounded when you are brought into this world thinking you are so special for doing nothing more then being born to famous parents.
The mayor of Nice didn't "bestow citizenship"! Lucky enough, Nice isn't a country yet.
The mayor simply gave them the birth certificate, which every baby gets (although not delivered by the mayor :p)

They actually did donate the Shiloh money to charity. I'm not excusing the unbelievable circus surrounding the situation, but they ARE doing something altruistic with the photo profits.
I wonder if they donated the money to their own charity, or spread it around to others.
I'm from Nice and I am not interested. Why da hell did they go here to give birth to their kids and bring all those paparazzis with them. We like our calm life down here and these attention-whores come here to spoil it. Who cares if the mayor treats them like royalty. Obviously he's also star struck
Funny thing is this. OK the money will go to charities, does that make it OK to sell your babies' pictures? Did you ask those kids for their permission? What celebrities don't know is making this first step like selling their baby pics is a hidden sign to paparazzi that it's ok for them to expose them.
Halle Berry hasn't shown her babygirl to anybody and I bet you that baby is gorgeous as ever. And looks like nobody asks because they respect her and her choice.

I dunno. If I were them, I'd want full control over those first pictures, too -- because the paparazzi are hungry and they WILL get full facial shots eventually. At least this way they can monitor everything and have some financial leeway. I do understand why this annoys so many people, but I also get why Brad and Angelina are so protective. And, yeah -- I'm sure Halle's baby is absolutely beautiful. I'd be lying if I said I weren't curious to see how those incredible genes worked out, but I also respect Halle for keeping her baby to herself. It's a weird situation. Good thing NONE of us have to worry about this sort of invasion of privacy!
Also, you have to take into consideration that Halley Berry isn't as famous as them, so the demand isn't as huge.
Actually, the mayor went to them because it was decided that it would be too much of a spectacle if they went to city hall themselves..and everyone was asking for something so they allowed the mayor to show one of the twins' birth certificates to the paps.
I'm glad both the babies are healthy. As for the parents...."if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all". So, I wont say anything at all......

they are pimp'n their children for good reason by donating? it still seems wrong to do so. raise money like normal celebrities, is she have puppies to get donations? that's just sick and wrong. Those kids are going to be running out of royalties with all the drugs Maddox will be doing later in life with this type of attention and special treatment, they are all deemed for some type of troubled teen years.

Indeed it is us who makes the media go crazy with the Jolie-Pitts. Us readers of INO, us readers of all the various celeb gossip magazines. Without us there wouldn't be any interest in them and certainly no magazine who was willing to pay over £6mil for the first pictures.
Typical exploitation, if something works then those in power go in to overdrive/overkill and start cramming it down our throats. What do we have to do to make it stop?

The Shiloh money did not go to charity. These two media whores have pulled the wool over so many. I don't get all this attention for two illegitimate kids born to a whore and an idiot.
Anybody notice that in one quote, the doctor referred to Brad Pitt as Angie's "husband?" Not. For the adoptive kids...who cares whether the two of them are married or not. But with Shiloh...and now twins....it's just trashy that they aren't married. Who are they kidding here? Why won't they make it legal and legitimize their kids?
Ernestine, how do YOU know if they gave the money from Shiloh's pics to charity? I never saw anything at all about which charity the money went to. I think it went right into their own pockets to help pay for these constant moves all over the globe and renting these fantastic houses for millions of dollars...and to pay for all the behind-the-scenes help that they have to employ for all those kids...several of whom do not even speak the same language....
I wish them much happiness, I always liked Jolie for her head strong charactere and attitude. But in recent months I feel very indifferent about her, in fact I like her less. Press conferences regarding pregnancies, over the top mansions, queen like appearances, what seems to be a complete control over her manrag, IVF (fertilization) that she calls to be a surprise????--she is becoming like the rest of the fake Hollywood. She seems to have lost that streak I found to be appealing. Perhaps her age and maturity. Never liked or cared for Pitt.
It is people of this country who have made them rich, yet they feel like they are too good for USA. With all the money they have, and since they like to talk so much about their goodiness, why not go to Washigton and work for the good of the people in this country. Talk is cheap, and I keep forgetting that most people in Hollywood are narcissists.

I understand the price is up to $20mil now!! Obsurd!! Of course Brad Pitt's big "Rebuilding of New Orleans" hasn't gone anywhere because no one will donate money - I bet $20mil would rebuild the entire neighborhood - that would be a great donation instead of giving it to other countries or buying/renting a castle for $60 million! Sorry - I'm little tired of their holier-than-thou attitude!

The underlying driving force of this ridiculous media spectacle is, of course, money. Pitt and Jolie feed off the media attention they receive as they go about their bizarre and excessive lifestyle, while the media makes megabucks publishing photos and the next ridiculous instalment. Whereas once Jolie seemed to have some credibility and commitment to higher causes, this seems to have all but disappeared as her obsession with herself has grown. You have to feel for the kids being born into such a situation. Sure they'll be well cared for materially, but how do parents provide emotionally for 6 kids aged so close together? Nor will they be able to have a "normal" life with the constant media attention and resultant security measures that surround them. As for Pitt, he just seems to be there for the ride with no mind of his own, acting as occasional sperm donor. On the surface their lives may appear the stuff of fairy tales, but in reality they have built up a luxurious prison-like existence. Think about it. They can't walk down the street, go to a park, see a movie, go to a restaurant, have a family outing and all the other normal things the rest of us do. They can have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Protesters yelling chants, calling for justice just outside of Angelina's super-protected private hospital window may have woken up Brad, the new mom and their babies this evening ...
Residents in Nice protested this evening outside Lenval Hospital, speaking out against what they say is the mayor's undue attention to a celebrity birth over the murder of a local youth which, they say, received little attention from officials in the southern French city.
The local family, originally from North Africa, told X17 video cameras they demand justice for their 22 year -old son who was stabbed. The crowd chanted "We want justice!" A protester added that city officials have not paid attention to the boy's murder and that they have not been allowed to return his body home.
The man said Nice's mayor, Christian Estrosi, has been "celebrating the birth of the twins with Brad Pitt, meanwhile there has been no murder investigation and the killer [of the 22 year-old boy] is still running free in the city."
Protesters became enraged and some even tried to enter the hospital. Anti-riot police were brought in and Brad and Angie hired three extra bodyguards to secure the hospital.
Could this be a wake-up call for Brangelina? We respect the couple's charity work on philanthropy but is the spectacle of their children's birth and their $70 million-dollar French chateau overshadowing a country's own, more important news? No doubt it is, but is that Brad and Angelina's fault or ours, the media's?
