Nicole Kidman Might Not Sell Sunday Rose's First Pictures

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban might not sell the rights to the first set of published pictures for Miss Sunday Rose according to new reports. In fact, a source has claimed that the couple doesn't "think it's appropriate to make deals". The actress is probably so overwhelmed with joy and love at the moment that she can't begin to fathom thinking about brokering anything.

"They don’t think it’s appropriate to make deals. They are still deciding how they feel about (it) - if and when they will release a photo at all. But they realize there is enormous interest from the public and they are grateful and appreciative of that.

"Nicole and Keith have been enjoying their first few days at home with their firstborn tot - Nicole is thinking about things like breastfeeding right now."

And if I'm being cynical for the moment... it would be wise to wait for the Jolie-Pitt twins to have their moment before thinking about settling for anything. Right now, all new babies come second and perhaps Nicole knows that.

Or am I the only one who couldn't care less about the Jolie-Pitt family in general?

Actually I thought she made a very good point... Whether or not you are a fan of the Jolie-Pitts, they made the biggest headlines by far in the past 10 days or so regarding babies. It would be quite insane for a magazine to pass up them in favour of pretty much any other baby.. like it or not. I'm not really a fan of anybody that's had a baby in the news this week, but I did find myself wondering about that odd aspect of the business yesterday.

Vera, the last line was too harsh, like it wasn't you who wrote it. I admire them for not marketing their baby. It's like with their wedding, when they only realesed a pic, for free. Kudos to them for being classy and not making such a huge deal from their baby's birth. They're clearly not atention-seekers like others.

I have a lot of respect for Nicole Kidman right now. She's been very private through the duration of her whole pregnancy, and it's cool that she's not talking about doling out her kid just to satisfy the curiousity of the media. Of course, the AUSTRALIAN media is probably going buck nutty over this kid, since Nicole is basically like their number two patron saint -- number one being Kylie Minogue. I've been there. Trust me! I wonder how long she can keep the Aussie paps away?

Have you really been here, Ernestine, or are you kidding us? If you have, you certainly didn't pick up the vibe of the place. Australians are not into the cult of celebrity in the way Americans are, and "celebs" are often seen as fair game for a bit of fun when they get a bit too full of themselves. The birth of the child was featured in the daily newspapers, but was certainly no headliner. In fact, one of the major newspapers in Melbourne ran a hilarious article as a result on "celebs" and the ridiculous names they inflict on their offspring. The name "Sunday" paled in comparison, except that the woman whom they supposedly named her after, Sunday Reed, a patron of the arts in the 30s and 40s, had an open menage-a-trois affair with her husband, and the husband of her sister, artist Sidney Nolan. Later in life when her husband died, she committed suicide soon after. Maybe the Kidman family needed to do a little more research! As for Ms Minogue, she is popular here, but again, we remember her early days as Charlene in a soapie called "Neighbours", with her broad accent, poodle perm and terrible acting. She laughs at it herself, an aspect of her personality which endears her to Australians as she has never come across as a diva. She's come a long way since, but her real popularity lies in the UK. If Australians do have an obsession, it is with sport, particularly our own brand of football, rugby and cricket. If you did come here, maybe you didn't spend enough time away from the tourist coach and sights to really get to know the place and its people.

Vera- assuming that Nicole doesn't wanna sell her baby pics because brangelina....wtf??? Maybe she is just not interested in selling her baby pictures that's all. I always thought this website had a positive head on it but reading this post makes me realize that Vera is just like Perez. Assuming....

Vera has yet to doodle spooge or penises on people's faces, so I really believe she hasn't yet sunk to Perez's level. Just saying...

How refreshing! A celebrity who isn't willing to sell their baby pics to the highest bidder. I hope Nicole and Keith stick to this initial decision, it's shows they have class ....... something which no amount of money can buy.

On one hand I can understand BUT if the mags are willing to pay donate the $$ to a deserving charity. The interest is there and the stupid paps will be trying to get a photo of the baby anyway, which is sad. So why not do it in a comfortable setting and then a deserving charity benefits from the proceeds.
Passerby (not verified)Passerby (not verified) said:
.... or why not just give some money to charity without invading your baby's privacy? Bottomline is... giving the money to charity doesn't make it right.

I'm with Karen here, it the mags are so stupid to pay so much money then milk them for as much as you can. As for the baby's privacy... I find it much worse when parents christen their children when they are too young to make up their own mind. The twins will have their picture taken at every opportunity anyway so why not have someone pay for the pleasure of taking the first ones.

What a snarky thing to say Vera. That was quite uncalled for...I think it's wonderful that Keith and Nicole are not "selling" Sunday out. When they were married they released one pic too.Nicole has/always will be first class!!! Kudos to this sweet couple and best wishes to their lovely addition!

While I think it's bizarre to sell pictures of your baby....I think what Brad and Angelina do is great. And maybe other couples, I'm not sure who else donates the money to charity. But anyway, if the idiots at magazine companies want to offer that ridiculous amount of money and you are Brad and Angie types who give it to charity...I say go for it. That money can do such good around the world. I also respect the parents who decide not to do it as well. If you sell the pics and keep all the money to yourself, that I have a problem with.

Recently I was asking to see a celebrity who would decline it. It would be great if Nicole would do it to show she has charactere. Celebrities can give to charities and save for their children without baby photo handouts from magazines. Sure it is great to receive money but I find it to be in poor taste, even if money is donated.Celebrities have enough money for donations; they are greatly compensated for movies. Bravo to Nicole if she does it. Greediness is a terrible disease in human society.

Passerby (not verified)Passerby (not verified) said:
True. The most important babies in the world are your own. Ms Kidman has shown class right through her pregnancy and the birth by keeping it a private, personal experience for her and her family. By not selling pictures of her baby to the highest bidder, she is ensuring that she can savour this special time for as long as possible. Good for her!

wow vera did you really write that??? That was very nasty thing to say. I admire Nicole for not pimping out her child like that.

Very classy, Kidman-Urbans!!!! With Kidman having given a "cold image" by the media, she could have used this opportunity to improve it. But she has never used her private life or her two older kids to look sympathetic before and I dont' think she will do it now(with her youngest). I think this is one of the reasons Corporate America still gets her as an endorser for worldwide campaign deals despite her movies not making much money. She seems to be a great role model.
