I just want to say I feel sorry for Elisabeth Hasselbeck. It seems like she is never heard. She is a bit annoying, but she was asking for an explination as to why its OK for Jesse Jackson to say then N-word when he SAYS he is fighing racism.. seems like the total opposite to me.
I agree...I feel sorry for Elisabeth, too. Blacks can say the n word but no other race can. Sounds kind of racist to me.
Whoopi and Sheri were trying to point out that when blacks call each other n***** it has a totally different meaning. I think Shari even said it could be a term of endearment. GIMME A BREAK!!!
i guess for ONCE, I agree with Elizabeth and wonder why she was dogpiled. She usually says some really ignorant things, but this was not one of them. She made some REALLY good points and weather one thinks the same as what she said, they could have listened. Frankly, I am tired of the old argument,"it's OK it we say it, but not you". It actually just not OK for anyone to say it and its was not OK for Jesse Jackson to say it. If black people think it is such a horrendous word, THEN DON'T USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it is a terrible word with terrible history and negative energy. No one should use it. When will we stop saying us, and them and realize that we are all in this world together? Some black people (especially American) are do not seem to want any unity either.
I feel sorry for Elisabeth, having to put up with Shari and Whoopi on the View!
I wish Whoopi would have whooped her a**. How can anyone tell black people to stop using a word that continues to be muttered under non-blacks breath? There is a lot of black literature that explains the context of the n-word and how it is used (Langston Hughes, Cornell West, James Baldwin, Zora Hurston). So a non-black person should never tell me not to use the n word. When you are called a ni**er at that very instant you know there are two different worlds. Many blacks don’t repeat the word **** but are called a ni**er frequently, and people like myself take the word ni**er and empower myself. I pity those who think calling me a **** brings me down or breaks my spirit. And just because I can say it doesn’t mean that you can say. Its not hyprocitical or racist. There is a right of passage. Ask any black person, they will tell you about the first time they were called a ni**er.
It is racist...those are just excuses you are using so you can use the word, but have a fit if another race uses it. Very racist!
I hate when famous people refuse autographs,fans are the one who make them rich and famous.Mila isn't huge.
