Blake Fielder-Civil was just sentenced for 27 months in prison after a violent incident last year. After he was charged he then tried to fix the trial.
Fielder-Civil and friend Michael Brown beat James King, 36, so badly in June 2006 that he needed plates fitted into his face for a broken cheekbone and still has counselling.
But, get this. Blake tried to use Amy Winehouse's fame to get him out of jail. His lawyer told the court,
Knowing the nation's glare is upon him, Mr Fielder-Civil has every possible motive to rehabilitate himself in the way he has already shown he is fully committed to doing. He knows if he fails, an appointment with calamity awaits, not just for himself but for his wife.
He can now see that hard drugs are to be regarded as nothing other than a smiling assassin. He wishes now to become a role model for Miss Winehouse but he knows it would be impossible for her to alienate herself from drugs if he continues to befriend them.
So what is the justice system like in England? Does anyone know if this means Blake will for sure serve the 27th months or can he get out early for good behavior or "overcrowding" like in the U.S.?

Compared to Amy, those other girls with her look so clean!
He might get out in December when he will be able to appeal again. Yes,it is possible to get out early on good behaviour grounds in UK but I doubt it will happen in his case as apparently he fights in prison a lot.
He may get out after he serves at least half of his sentence..
the attorney said it because while he was asking for a smaller sentence because he was a model prisoner, but the judge said that he knew of his drug use from the magazines and the attny countered with that statement..
He'll probably only serve half the time. They think he'll be out by December. Look at Amy's face- she looks absolutely terrible. I really hope she cleans her act up.
i'm from london and i think most people are shocked, considering rapists and little kids who stab other children get a lot less, the system is really messed up at the moment. Obviously his actions were wrong bla bla bla, but watch the video, but it was mainly his friend. i think he is being made an example of big time, hopefully it will work. but he will blatantly be out within 6 months, and model prisoner i think not, he was caught smoking crack by the sun 100's of times. silly boy!
Amy gained weight, hope she quit drugs cold turkey. She looks soo much better with her weight gain.

That wasn't weight gain, that was alcohol bloat.
Being made an example? Well, I don't care if he only beat up the guy 35% and his friend 65%, what he did was wrong (the poor guy ended up having his cheek bones and eye smashed in) and he should be punished. But you are right, of course he'll be out in six months... probably less than that. I just hope by then he has cleared up his act and so will Amy!
All of the prisons in the UK are seriously overcrowded and understaffed, so it is highly unlikely that Blake will serve his full sentence. The whole of the justice system in the UK is in an utter mess, and unfortunately it's the average law abiding people who are suffering. The government don't want to build more prisons, or order the courts to issue stiffer sentences, or put more police on the streets ( I guess it's too dangerous!), they prefer to spend their time raging illegal war, and taxing decent people with speed cameras and obscenely high council tax bills. It's not surprising that a reported 4,000 people are choosing to leave the UK every week. Great Britain it may once have been, now it is sadly an increasingly decaying third world country. :( Whoever said the law is an ass certainly knew what they were talking about!
Its so sad how unhealthy she looks now!
I don't think he's going to be in there much longer, as he's "served most of his sentence in custody" so there isn't that long left of the 27 month sentence. It's extremely likely he'll be out before Christmas.
