As usual Elizabeth is the only conservative on The View. I've seen Dresher in several interveiws and she is a toal bitch. I don't usually watch The View because other than Elizabeth I can't stand watching so many un-informed,stupid,hateful women.( LOL they think they are informed )
I don't know what it is about Elizabeth...she is just so annoying and she's certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed. It's not so much whether we agree with her or not, it's how she present herself. I really wish Barbara would fire her ass and hire someone who can hold an intelligent conversation. I agree, her crying at the end was truly pathetic, I'm almost embarrassed for her.
Elizabeth is such a fake, her argument is specious as hell. Just teach your kids not to use the word, and shut up about it. End of story. It's just like the b-word. She is just used to getting her way.
Elizabeth IS a crybaby. She cannot stand for anyone to disagree with her. That, above all else, is what makes her annoying and basically a joke. Fran didn't say she was going to teach anyone to say that word. No one has to teach that word, it's a part of American culture like it or not. Too many people are in denial about this but I digress.......
I personally don't like Elizabeth Hasselbeck. However, I do agree with her take on the N-word. Their shouldn't be a double standard when it comes to the N-word. I'm a Black American and my parents taught me never to use that word. If someone black were to address me using that word I would be equally offend if not more.

She came up with countless intelligent counterarguments. Whoopie and Sheri just kept repeating the SAME nonsensical argument that black people own the word now. Why should any one race OWN a word?
And also, Elisabeth was arguing that she doesn't believe that blacks should be able to use the n-word in popular culture/out in the public. Sheri said at the top of the segment that she went to a funeral for the n-word where they buried it--never to be seen by the public again. She later admitted that she still uses it in private. Okay...so then don't she and Elisabeth agree? Eliminate the word from public usage--rap songs, TV shows, comedy sketches--and there won't be an issue. If blacks limit their usage of it to private affairs, twelve year old kids won't use it when singing the latest Jay-Z song.
This is America. Free speech. Again, it's just a word. Jeez.

You can't have free speech and a double standard. Its either acceptable or not. Its like how you can't sit in a movie theater and scream FIRE when there is none and claim free speech- its just wrong across the board.
I agree with her on the use of the N-word... It doesnt make sense... if you call yourself a word usually it would be okay to for other people to call you it.... Dont get me wrong I dont use it or never would because it hurts people... but it doesnt make sense to say that we can call eachother it but if your white you cant call me it. I think with Elisabeth they really paint a picture of all conservative women being idiotic, clueless and unable to express themselves. Which is unfortunate, because that certainly isn't true for all conservative women - in fact it's just as true for liberal women. But that's not the picture they want to paint.

I think that using the term "that poor girl" to describe Hasselbeck is the farthest from appropriate. She seeks out conflict and controversy to get attanetion. If she really wanted people to not pick on her she would not have called in to the show to bitch out Fran. If she had any class at all for starters she would not start crap and second she would not keep it going, she would take the high road and move on. I understand her wanting to voice her opinion and express her "View" but there are more diplomatic ways to go about it. I think if she maintained her composure when making arguments she would be taken more seriously because she does make good points on this N word issue but they are overshadowed by her bad attitude I used to admire Hasslebeck for being a strong woman but as time has gone by she has become nothing but a big disappointment to women everywhere by further perpetuating the stereotype that women are emotional, catty, and never shut up.

Elisabeth rang in to fight with Fran about the N Word. Fran rightly said that wasn't was she had a concern with, it was about Elisabeth crying. I think Elisabeth and Fran,both, handled themselves very well in this situation! They both come across as very emotional women.
Like Elizabeth or not I completely agree with her position. Based on the reaction of her fellow black woman on the panal last night as well as on online forums Whoopi does not speak for all black people . If there is even a small part of that population offended and sensitive to the word it should not be used.
Fran Drescher is extremely intelligent and did herself a diservice last night. She did not just question the need for tears she mocked Elizabeth in a mean and personal way which was not professional nor how women should support each other. Her comment was not presented in a manner that enriched this important discussion. One wonders what the comment was fueled by , there seemed to be an inordinant about of spite behind it.
At any rate Whoopi should not have the last word on this subject. I think the leaders and thinkers in the black community should weigh in and even those that think it is OK should listen to their opinions.
I agree with your comment about Dresher. However this mean, snarky behavior is typical of Dresher. Elizabeth is a sensitive person and she feels ganged up on. Every time she expresses an opinion on The View someone jumps on it. She is constantly on the defensive. I don't blame her for crying. What's wrong with crying anyway? Look, I don't even know how Americans feel about this word, because I've never lived in the States, but for what I've read... if it was "just a word" you wouldn't be calling it "the n word" but just saying nigger (ok, apparently the filter has an oppinion of its own), since it's just a word.

I think it's Hi-LARIOUS that these people on these shows take themselves so seriously. They are entertainers, personalities -- whatever -- with opinions that are foisted upon us hour after hour, and presented to us AS IF they are words of wisdom. They all need to take a heaping tablespoon of shutup since their opinions and arguments do nothing toward helping or solving whatever issue they go on and on about....

Fran Drescher is a class act and was absolutely correct in questioning Hasselbeck about why she cried during the N-word discussion on The View. I do not watch The View because I do not find it particularly interesting. Meanwhile, the View clip between Whoopi and Hasselbeck has been aired to death because of the Hasselbeck meltdown and much less as a result of the N-word controversy. Hasselbeck is a mental case and needs to be institutionalized rather than memorialized as a TV icon.
Regarding the N-word controversy: as long as African-Americans continue to use it the word will remain in the lexicon. It's as simple as that.
I for one support Elisabeth, and love watching Elisabeth on the View.
Is it her fault that she got stuck with a cast of Co-Hosts that are so Liberal they couldn't see the conservative side of things if it whacked them ion the ASS?
