Mischa Barton Dropped By Her Agency

Page Six is reporting that Mischa Barton has been dropped by her current talent agency, The Creative Artists Agency. She is now with the Paradigm Agency out of New York.

A source said that Mischa,

"was dropped by Creative Artists Agency because she hasn’t had any big roles since ‘The O.C.’ "

But, Mischa’s rep said none of that was true.

"Mischa left CAA – she was not dropped."

Hmmm, who do you believe?

  1. Nona says:

She probably left them b/c they werent doing their job, as someone else said. If it was me and my career had fallen so low, I would drop them for not doing their job right. Maybe w/ a new or better agency they can get her better roles

  2. Passerby says:

She was dropped, I believe Page Six.

  3. Passerby says:

I think it sucks that CAA milked her, then dropped her, if that is even the case and not just a rumor. She helped make them richer for a long time. Loyalty goes both ways, though. Maybe the next big star will drop CAA because they’re not “producing like they should.”

  4. tbtrfli says:

I bet it was mutual… especially if she is already w/ someone else.

  5. Cahlen says:

Mischa is so pretty but people seem to hate her…because she has cellulite??? I don;t know why she is so unpopular these days but I feel like that is her agency’s problem right? Arent they suposed to further her career, not watch it fall apart??? Whatev…maybe one day she will be in the public good graces again like she was a few years ago.

  6. Sarah O. says:

Dropped! Finally, someone saw she was worthless! Now I just feel bad for the agency that did pick her up. Hmm. Oh well. Best of luck all round!

  7. Monkey Joystick says:

I think she was probably dropped. How do we know that her agency wasn’t getting her the auditions but she couldn’t deliver and therfore didn’t get parts?

  8. Passerby says:

you’ve got this story all wrong. there appears to be a quite well orchastrated hate campaign going on over Mischa at the moment— see earlier in the week the total lies printed first by Mario Lavandeira over the Berlin Nightclub “incident”(for the truth, Perezrevenge.com).

The truth here is she did leave CAA—there was, however, some ill will, from the Talent Agency mostly. They were really pissed when the Forbes Wealthiest Young Hollywood List was published as it showed them how small their commission was relative to her income. also MB rarely went on castings but she did want to audition for Snow White which CAA refused to send her on etc etc

  9. Passerby says:

Maybe that “well orchestrated hate campaign” against Mischa is because there’s really something in Mischa that’s making her former directors, producers, and agents hate her. Unprofessional behavior, getting that DUI, not promoting her movie at Cannes, etc. She sounds like such an ingrate in her interviews. There have been reports about her diva behavior ever since her OC days.

  10. gretel says:

I also don’t get why everyone hates her. I don’t think she’s pretty – for me, she’s average – but I don’t get why everyone keeps bashing her.

  11. Passerby says:

Of course her rep will never admit she was dropped. But I believe she was. What has she done lately except sunbathe?

  12. Passerby says:

…she had a lot of big roles in the tabloids. heh.

  13. Mr. T says:

    Worst excuse EVER!

  14. far says:

i believe, that she’s untalented and she will go away. i have to believe that. It will happen. It has to.

  15. Ernestine says:

Dropped like a turd. I hope this is the beginning of the end. She is a truly awful actress, and she sounds like a total ingrate. She doesn’t deserve any work, and there really aren’t a lot of people clamoring to see her in anything.

  16. Meeshhead says:

To Ernestine: My dear, why don’t you start your own hate blog. You’re so good at it!

  17. Neena says:

I believe she was dropped by CAA…why would someone who’s career is going nowhere fast leave a top agency?

I know alot of people are saying that she left them because they weren’t finding her much work. BUT…she did do that film with Richard Attenborough + she was offered a part in GG (which she turned down). So the way i see it they were getting her work…but not the work she wanted i guess…

  18. Ernestine says:

I don’t have time to start mischabartonsucksalot.com, but I’m sure that a similar blog exists somewhere. Oh, and HI THERE, Mischa!

  19. Ellie says:

She was a model before the OC and that is pretty much it. If it wasn’t for the show she wouldn’t be that famous… and vice versa. All her movie roles are minor and/or stupid. Sucks. I hope she finds something else.

  20. xmas caulfield says:

are you implying that the O.C. wouldn’t have been a successful show without mischa barton?

  21. roxystar says:

i don’t like her at all… and her fashion choices are very blahhhh… i think she was dropped… who cares………

  22. grey says:

sorry misch, we at thegreylist.com haven’t been much of a fan as of late. its time to work it girl; she hit her prime but she didn’t capitalize on it at all!!

  23. Passerby says:

    i believe she was dropped.

  24. Passerby says:

She probably left them BECAUSE she hasn’t had any big roles. That is their job as a talent agency to get her those roles. It’s their fault, not hers. She was really popular when she was on the O.C. and if they had gotten her good parts afterwards, she would have remained popular. If your agency isn’t doing their job, of course you’re going to leave them…

  25. Passerby says:

I believe they dropped her on her flat ass.

  26. gretel says:

I’m more inclined to believe the agency dropped her. I just read bad things about her EVERYWHERE, I almost feel sorry for her. Also, her legs……………………….. ok, I’m not saying anything else.

  27. momster says:

    Are we surprised?

  28. CapturingLife says:

I’m surprised that the media even bothers reporting anything on her anymore. ;)

  29. dyinggiraffe says:

that’s not what she said at all. she stated the complete opposite; that MISCHA wouldn’t have been successful without the show.

  30. xmas caulfield says:

she said: “If it wasn’t for the show she wouldn’t be that famous… and vice versa.” – what does the “vice versa” imply?
