Fashion Find: Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Simpson looked gorgeous at the Conde Nast Traveler Hot List party, in a 3.1 Phillip Lim dress ($675) & Chanel necklace (don't ask) ... but what interested one of our readers are her amazing pumps.
Ashlee is wearing Lanvin's Platform Peep-Toe Pumps, available at Barney's for $925.

FOR A DEAL TRY ... RSVP's "Cassidy" in Sand Antique Eel Skin (or 5 other colors), for $70 from Zappos.

AND FOR A COMPLETE STEAL ... try the closed toe ZARA Pump from Forever 21 for $19.80!

Lo - I'll have a real, deal & steal on the necklace for you tomorrow ... I think I may have found you an EXACT "inspired version" & a way to have the original for an event.

ps- it's Elyn ;-)

I prefer closed toe heels... a lot of professional environments veto peep-toe... and if I'm going to invest in a pair of heels I want some versatility out of them...

I love the cheap version though. I wish I could find some of that style, with a lower heel though! I'm 5'10" in barefeet and with anything higher than 2" I feel like I'm towering over the universe.

lis - If you ditch the front-platform you can go up maybe another inch. I found some super-cute square heeled, toe-covered shoes (& other looks that are hot) in a decent price range, from Naughty-Monkey:

a smidge higher, but sooo cute: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/27512877/c/695.html

& a SUPER-CUTE modified low wedge (from their 'not rated' line):

Hope this helps ... or at least gives you some ideas!!!

Always thought those plateform shoes were not for me but she looks so classy, I may give them another try.

Oh man Elyn! Thank you - you've now got me hooked a new brand, hahahahaha

Those are quite possibly my new dream shoes :) (After these - http://www.stevemadden.com/item.aspx?id=46252 - which are so amazingly ridiculous I fell in love instantly even though I'll be 6'2" in them... I'm buying them btw.)

I think the platforms can look naughty or nice - depends on the shoe and how you wear it.

Julie Ann - You're soooo right! You also really need to know what your strengths & limitations are in shoes, because the most lux shoe won't look good if you can't even stand straight!

I saw a woman wearing them in SoHo yesterday & she looked horrid because the shoes are really high & she could barely teeter in them. On the other hand, I saw a woman walking down the street in Tribeca (on freaking cobblestones!) who OWNED those shoes & made them look like an extension of her legs!

Lis - I'm soooo glad you like them!!!NM's are some of my favorites too!

And because you reminded me about the policy, I did a WHOLE find on corporate closed toes for tomorrow (Monday), with another pair of NM's with 2 1/2" heels!... ENJOY!!!!
