Madonna And Guy Ritchie To Renew Their Wedding Vows

The British Sun is reporting that Madonna and Guy Ritchie are planning to renew their wedding vows during a 50th birthday celebration next month at the couple's country estate.
"It’s a very important dinner for them they want everyone to know they are still in love." The special ceremony will reportedly take place at the celebrity couple’s British country estate, with two rabbis flying in from New York to officiate.
The event will coincide with the celebration of the pop star’s 50th birthday, according to the publication. Madonna turns 50 on 16 August.
Has anyone ever done this?
I've always said I wanted to renew my vows (with party of course) after 10 years of marriage. But that is RIGHT around the corner. So JUST LAST NIGHT I told hubby I want to wait until 15 years. That way our children will be old enough to participate and really understand what's happening. I just LOVE this idea.

The corpse bride, how attractive. I thought about it, but now that my mother is gone, I don't see the point. I eloped and she was always sad that she never got to see my wedding. So I would have done it for her. But I waited too long.

It's my 10 year anniversary this year too! But we're not doing anything special. No money! We're thinking of doing something extra special on our 20th. But then again, who knows. We're not the tradtional type, so it's not that important.

Was this photo really necessary with this story? We've already seen the photo...we get it. She doesn't look great without makeup at the gym. That has nothing to do with this story, and this photo has been posted ad nauseam on every site already.

Come on now...we saw the pic already. You're suppose to be a positive site, don't knock her when she's down. Not everyone is attractive or happy all the time, we as women should know that. Just because she's a celebrity doesn't mean she's not human. Give her a break.

My parents renew their vows every single year. They have been married 36 times so far :) They don't make it a big deal though. The church does it every month, so it's always several couples renewing them at a time.

Sounds like damage control/publicity stunt given all the negative stuff that's been thrown her way recently. Let's hope the post-surgery swelling has settled by then, and she goes for a dress with sleeves. In a way you have to feel sorry for the way the media is trying to tear her to pieces at the moment, but then she has built her career on using them to promote her often very controversial and highly-sexualized image. I guess the media these days is prepared to print anything they feel will bring in the money, with truth often having very little to do with it. The cult of celebrity seems to have grown alongside this. They feed off eachother. Today's darling of the media, is tomorrow's alleged "trainwreck". Makes you wonder how much of the "real" news is true as well!
I wonder what Madonna's real reason for going out in public like this is?
