Will Smith Plans Prequel For Legend
Did you enjoy I am Legend with Will Smith? If so, I have good news. A prequel is in the works for the movie and everyone is on board. The film will concentrate on Legend's back story. Director Francis Lawrence confirms:
"Absolutely (there will be a prequel), we’re actually trying to crack that. We’re trying to figure out some ideas for it, but yes, it would be a prequel."
The film crew will have an easier time this go around because shutting down 6th avenue in NYC is NOT an easy feat.
"The first time you go out there and shut down 6th Avenue, it’s like, ‘How are we going to do this day after day after day?’ But by the end, it’s just like you know how to do it.
"You got the PAs (personal assistants) who know how to shut it down, how to let the traffic through in between set-ups and you just sort of get the routine down, so that’s not the issue."

A prequel is what happens before the other movie took place. I just watched I am Legend a few nights ago for the first time....it certainly didn't suck.

The original certainly did NOT suck.
It didn't suck, but the ending did.
The original was campy, and sucked if you weren't into campy. We rented it the same night, after seeing I am Legend in the theater, we went and got the Charlton Heston original, Omega Man. The movie made me so sad for my German Shepard, I miss her. She died when I got home from my honeymoon, we were more in sync and able to read minds than the movie portrayed, although I suppose that is hard to fake. What a great breed of dog.

i also think that it' is overated and boring.
The real original was OMEGA MAN starring Charlton Heston. I won't see this movie or a prequel. OMEGA MAN was the best.

I Am Legend was a phenomenal book, a pioneer in its genre. This movie was a travesty.
I really think Will Smith is majorly overrated. He comes nowhere near great actors such as Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman. There is no depth to his acting at all. He has cookie cutter acting style. I am sure if I would be lucky to be at he right time and the right place I could do it better than him. He reflects modern day, conveyer belt approach of Hollywood: young, minority, appeals to masses. No talent-no problem, we will just get on with the PR campaign to squash out any negativity.

It took me a long time before I finally saw this movie because I didn't think I'd be interested but I LOVED it. :) The man can carry a movie. ;) I'd definitely see the prequel.

i only watched the first half of i am legend. i stopped watching after the dog died, it upset me too much. i thought will smith was amazing in it from what i saw, but the zombie monster whatever things looked AWFUL. i hate that cgi bs. it seriously ruined the movie for me. bring back people in make up and costumes and do away with the computer and green screen.

what's with all the prequels these days? it's like the directors don't have the ability to tell a story right anymore. if you fail to give a good fondation you just go and make a prequel. or two. or three. stupid.

and i also think that smith always plays the same guy in each movie. and now that he is friend with nutcase cruise we will approach much more american hero movie. ugh.

I thought that I AM LEGEND was a great movie. Well acted and well written. I think it would be wonderful if they filmed a prequel. :) I would definitely watch it!
