NO it's because she is claiming that the other ladies want the country to have only one opinion, yet she does not listen and she is on her horse about what she thinks. She also wants the world to have one opinion, HERS!
The whole point of the ad was to paint a negative image of Barack Obama. Paris and Brittany don't have the best public image; that was why they were chosen. If they put the images of respected celebrities in the commercial then it would have caused the audience to have more positive feelings than using the images of two celebrities people dislike and make fun of. It's really about image association. I think it was a silly ad but it was thought out and the two people in the ad were chosen for a reason. I understood exactly why the commercial was done the way it was done, I don't see why they were confused… These commercials are just like marketing but instead of selling a product they are trying to associate the subject to the commercial with negative things.

People get insane over these things! I think the ad drags Mcain down - not Obama. anyone with half a brain looks at that commercial and thinks - thats a bit of a stretch. It's almost a parady you would see on SNL. Mcain should be (and probably is) embaressed. I think people are smart enough to laugh at that ad and not receive any 'subliminal" message!
I find the View quite annoying. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but Elisabeth gets jumped all over! I actually agree with a lot of her views and find it disrespective when she is trying to make a point and the others talk over her and say, "No. You're wrong." They won't even listen to what she has to say.

Actually, if you look at the gallop poll, McCain and Obama are neck and neck. I definitely think this will be a close race. Either way this election goes will by no means be a landslide for either candidate.

I don't agree with Elisabeth Hasselback, or deny her her right to her opinion. However she goes about trying to convince us that she is right and we are wrong the wrong way. It is almost like she doesn't give US the right to our own opinion. I find that SHE jumps all over everybody else and they are simply defending against her attacks. The give her credit to disagree but she doesn't even try to see the otherside of issues.

Elizabeth has proven time & time & time again that she is narrow minded when it comes to politics, and that the only time she demonstrates an open mind is when it comes to self tanning and shopping. Why is ANYONE ever surprised at her Archie Bunker style of arguing her point? I get that Barbara keeps her on because she makes good television...but when this particular show aired? I turned the TV off. Elizabeth has overstayed her red-neck welcome, as far as I'm concerned.

I only watched 5 minutes of the clip because I got so completely sick of watching Elisabeth try to express her opinion and have the three other woman twist what she was trying to say. That's not a conversation, that's ganging up on someone. For the record, I think the commercial is over-the-top, but I can see the point of it. Obama is riding a wave of celebrity right now. The media loves him and he is told, basically, that he can do no wrong. John McCain is supposed to pretend that isn't happening? Even the MEDIA talks about how much love and coverage they give to Obama. I don't know about you but I don't want a celebrity in the most powerful office in the country - sorry WORLD. I want someone who has experience and isn't going to get the job because of a popularity contest and novelty. Well, I consider my self a somewhat liberal conservative (if that makes sense), and I am not particularly happy with either of these 2 candidates. Having said that I think the ad did 'step over the line' somewhat - I just think it was a little bit dumb, IMHO. Just stick to the issues. I believe that Elizabeth should have her say, and that the others should let her talk. Ridiculous as she may actually sound (or made to sound) she has a right to her own opinion, and she does make for good TV. She is surrounded by outspoken liberals and a little bit out of her league, I think.

Elizabeth is quite possibly the most annoying person I have ever seen in my life. I understand that everyone is entitled to their own view, but you do NOT have to shout over people, continue talking into the commercial break, interrupt, interject, and allow your emotions to get the better of you. It's important to remember that YOUR VIEW IS NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT MATTERS! Everyone should be allowed to speak, and Elizabeth should not dominate the conversation because she is so passionate about her personal politics. I would be ECSTATIC if they kicked Elizabeth off the show. She is rude, annoying, overbearing and RIDICULOUS. I used to love her, but now that I go to the gym every day at 11 (and watch The View), my opinion of her has completely changed. I am a republican (or have always voted that way, at least) and thanks to ELIZABETH, I have started researching my views a little more in depth. How ironic.
Well, good for you!! We should all be digging down deep as to what our views are. What truth is. How boring would that show be if everyone on the panel was liberal. Elizabeth is the minority on that show with regards to her political affiliation. She isn't anymore rude, annoying, overbearing or ridiculous then any of the other women. She just sticks out because she is the only dissenting voice on the program.
It would be far more interesting if they had more balance on the show.
Watching this clip is a great reminder as to why I do not watch the view. No one on the show wants to hear anyone else's "view." All of the interrupting reminds me of the Jerry Springer show. I am very embarrassed for the women on this show. Someone should tell them how ridiculous they are!
This is what happens when you have 3 women who agree with one another and one who doesn't. When the shouting started it was all downhill. I happen to agree that it might not have been the best ad, but Obama was being compared to a celebrity, and as much as I don't like Paris and Britney, they are celebrities. The actual content in the ad was valid which most people are bypassing. The platform that Obama stands on is shaky at best with his taxes and foreign oil. Anything that Mcain puts out will be scrutinized.
Why is no one talking about the Ludacris Rap song? I never appreciate political ads that are made to put your opponent down or make them look bad. Spend your money telling me what you are going to do for this country not that your opponent is a bad person. I just do not think it is a worthwhile tactic.

I couldn't watch all of the clip because these women get on my nerves with their talking over each other and that's why I never watch The View. I have seen the commercial and it is dumb. Not a good move on McCain's part.

Elisabeth's biggest problem is that she rarely has her facts straight. At no time has there been any evidence that Obama would double taxes.
And, McCain, just last Sunday, told George Stephanopolous that even payroll tax increases to support Social Security are not off the table.
Regardless of who is elected, we cannot continue to accrue such massive debt, pay for two wars, inflate benefits packages, and survive.
Rather than see such ridiculous ads and nonsense go back and forth, I would prefer to see real discussion.
One last thing. Why is it bad that a US President might be greeted abroad by cheering crowds waving American flags? It's a lot better than having a President who is loathed around the world.

Taxes will double to pay for these two initiatives as well as the many other communist programs he has lined up. Study up on Russia and China so that you will be prepared for what socialism is, cause that is exactly what our country will be like if he is elected. Oh, and don't forget that he will cut all defense spending which will directly affect our militaries safety and the defense of our country.

I certainly do have my facts straight. The proposed fuel rebate would be funded by a windfall profits tax on the oil companies who, contrary to popular belief, are not investing the exhorbitant profits in research, but rather on purchasing their own stock to keep the prices up. Even Murdock's Wall Street Journal attests to this. I personally do not have a problem with the top 2% paying more taxes. Simply closing loopholes would help funding of projects. I am more concerned about the average American, who will get tax cuts, not increases.
Now all of you Democrats know how us Republicans feel! We have to see Democratic points of view on EVERY news station, by EVERY anchor. (except Fox News).

Whoopi's position was to have a discussion about the principle grounds of the commercial. To compare Obama to Brit or Paris is rediculous. It shows politics as usual coming from the right. There are many things they can go run in regards to an add for McCain, but as per usual it's a personal attack as opposed to credential.

First off, our Democratic Congress is newly Democratic and probably hasn't gotten much done according to one poster, because we have a Republican President, who has VOWED to not pass a thing the Democrats want. I hate that we have this Democratic versus Republican. Who cares, and not one side is better than the other, or has better ideas over the other. I wish we could get an oridinary guy in the white house. The one who has had a hard time finding a job or paying his mortgage. Someone more like the AVERAGE american. Clinton worked with a Republican Congress and many things got done, including a balanced budget. The Dems have caved on many issues with Bush like domestic spying and funding. And, with Bush, we sure don't have anyone likeable.
