Oh no! Morgan Freeman has been injured in a one car crash and had to be airlifted to a hospital after the accident.
According to the site, the actor’s car – carrying an unidentified female passenger – went off the shoulder of the road and flipped over around 11:30 p.m. in the city of Ruleville.
Ruleville is in rural Mississippi so they flew Morgan to a hospital in Memphis. No word yet on how he’s doing, but he was apparently talking at the scene. Hopefully injuries for Morgan and his passenger are not grave!

*Update: There are speculations that he may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
His rep gave a statement:
"He has a broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder damage but he is
in good spirits," said Donna Lee. "He is going to have surgery this
afternoon or tomorrow to correct the damage. He says he’ll be okay and
is looking forward to a full recovery."

How tragic. I am glad he is pulling through and in high spirits. For a 70~ year old man, that is a pretty incredible story.

I hope he’s going to be okay!! I just saw him on Broadway about 3 weeks ago and I met him earlier this year at a charity golf tournament. He was so nice and down to earth and EXTREMELY charming. He’s one of my all time favorite actors. Hope everyone involved will be okay.

I glanced at the article that “cilla” posted and it says he has a broken arm and is going to be OK. He was talking and even made a few jokes at the scene of the accident. There isn’t any injury information on the passenger of the car…and I guess no news is good news about the passenger…one can only hope that they are both really doing OK.
