Isn't that always the way it is? Parents are simultaneously our biggest fans and our biggest critics. Eva Mendes says that her mom is constantly scrutinizing her on the red carpet.
"Every time I walk the red carpet, she’ll say, 'Oh, the hair was a bit too much,' or she'll comment on the shoes.”
Eva also added that while she may play the rebels on the big screen, that's not how she is in real life.
"My character may be a bad girl, but I'm not."
As for rehab, she will never talk about it.
"People can speculate all they want. I'm not going to clear up the misconceptions. I have to think of the pain it might bring my mother."

Her not talking about it makes me wonder more. But its her right to not talk about it. I know its a personal thing. I will say its sad that she cant talk about a situation in her life tho b/c of her mother. Shouldnt her mother be supportive that she got help if she needed it?
Some moms (like my own) are NOT supportive!
She has every right to not talk about it if she doesn't want to. Some things should remain private.
Kathleen, mine isn't either! I envy my friends who have great moms. However I did get an excellent Dad so it balanced out a bit. :O)
I heard she had a miscarriage due to cocaine use... but again, just third party gossip. :p
i head the same thing too and what is common among the Latin culture is to appease the parents. So if this rumor is true, mom would be upset and prefer to keep it quiet.
Such a terrible actress.
