We need to put our heads together because I just don't understand this. Is it a statement? Is it pre-planned? A way to get her new Broadway play into the press? Is it someone who's just bored with her wardrobe? Is she really trying to bring the look back and be named responsible for it? Or is it someone who gained a little weight and doesn't want to show it off? But then why always the same pair? And why so many days in a row? She knows we are watching... She knows we will notice.
It's driving me insane. It can't just be that she likes these jeans. And if she does, why not get them in a few different colors?

Well, I have another conspiracy theory, it's not about the jeans though. Has anyone noticed how Katie and Tom haven't been together publicly in awhile? Well, I think Tom -- apparently -- didn't want Katie to do the Dark Knight, but because of how well the Dark Knight has done it could have done ALOT for Katie's career. I think that there is a little trouble in paradise, perhaps some resentment on Katie's part because she really doesn't seem to be doing much, but had she done the Dark Knight, wow.
She's PREG! And those pants are the disguise.

it is certainly odd for someone who was just recently so obsessed with fashion to be stuck in the comfort rut. i think she is a little loopy & maybe pregnant. maybe she is so focused on her work that her sense of style is on hold until the show finishes its run. kind of like a good luck thing like with athletes not shaving or cutting their hair. gee, i dont know, now i sound loopy.

I guess that they are comfy and let her breathe with regular gusts of oxygen wouldn't come into play at all? We should all be thankful that she is not wearing leggings.
What stumps me the most, is that she wears the same pair day after day. Why? She's rich enough to buy a hundred pair of these jeans. Doesn't make sense at all. Maybe it has something to do with her Broadway show.
i know what it is! she wants the paps to LEAVER HER ALONE so she's dressing dull as dirt! it doesn't seem to be working though :(

Katie is married to Tom, so that right there makes her not right in the head. By the way, where is Tom? Haven't seen him in a while, which surpirses me knowing his penchent for "keeping up appearences". katie did wear that long seagull dress the other day.
Enough with the Katie Holmes jeans posts. Vera, YOU ARE OBSESSED! :) BUt my theory is that she's doing it for the attention to take the focus off Nicole Kidman's baby. LOL

Um, Dan Radcliffe used to wear the same clothing every night leaving the theater because it made the pictures worthless for the paparazzi. It isn't working since she's always in a different shirt, though
Maybe Tom kicked her out of the house and that's all she has to wear?

Ok I have four theories. First, could definately have something to do with her broadway show - does the title say anything about the story line? Second, she seems to be looking more and more butch - do you think Tom likes her better this way considering his alleged liking of men? Third would be that she is bringing back an 80's look (if you were a child of the 80's, you totally get it) or the fourth theory is that she is pregnant, other sites are suggesting she may be.
My honest opinion is that she is looking way to butch and has lost her sparkle. Such a shame!!

Forget about the jeans. Look suri is covering her eyes from the flashes. Imagine a two year old finding her way. it is irresponisble parenting.Why at least katie covers the little girl's eyes. She wore glassess for helself isn't she? I think it is unresponsbile to her part taking a child in that kind of hot spot knowing the paps will follow you. Cover her with blanket or something kaite.

I think she is #1) pregnant, #2) wants to be comfortable while practicing for her play #3) trying to foil photographers & 4) trying to see just what she can stir up for the fun of it!
haha! vera.. i love how you've finally OBSESSED about someone! well, my theory is she just really likes these jeans. just like lindsay was constantly wearing leggings for about 10 years straught, it seemed like. but, katie holmes doesnt seem like the type to WANT to start a trend... to me, it really seems like shes just being herself, having found a new style she likes.
Maybe her previous obsession with fashion had something to do with the friends she kept (i.e. Victoria Beckham) and not really working very much. Before Katie married Tom Cruise, she always seemed very casual, girl next door. Maybe this is who she really is. Also, she probably spends quite alot of time at rehearsals. I'm sure everyone dresses that way.

With just starting rehearsals for this play, I am doubting she's pregnant. Well, unless it was an oops thing. :) I feel so bad for little Suri. When she grows up and starts reading all of the articles and blogs that call her an alien. I just can't imagine what that will do to her self esteem. Hopefully she grows up a strong, thick-skinned, young lady.

The thing in this pic that bugs me is little Suri covering her eyes... Gosh even at this age she knows what's up. It's sad really.
I think she is getting a huge laugh at all of us obssessing about why she wears the same pair of jeans everyday. She's totally playing with everyone. I would totally HATE for the paparazzi waiting every single second of the day to take a picture of me. Well, I guess she must have had to accept her destiny way back when she decided to marry Tom. I feel bad for her, anyway. Especially when she's not really doing anything extraordinary at the moment. She's doing what most actors do to make a living... working! I liked her so much with long hair, though:(

i think she's uber-depressed, rolls out of bed every morning and just throws on the same old dowdy thing. she never looks happy, her hair is always a mess, it's like she just doesn't care. her contract says she's stuck in her marriage...what would xenu say?

I am guessing it might be a suitable costume for her character - maybe it helps her get into character, or they are just really comfy rehersal clothes. I think if you are rehearsing a play, working out stage movements, maybe getting fitted for costumes, easy to wear and loose separates are the ideal clothes.
Those look like the same jeans featured in the Times a month or so ago, that people at fashion shoots were trying to keep after the job was done. But they aren't in stores or anything yet, so maybe Katie can't get more than one pair...

i may not be in the public eye but i have certainly had days where i wear the same jeans over and over and over again....at least she brushed her hair and stuff. I don't think I even did that. It's just a phase. She will want to be glam and girly again. but it is exshausting.

When I was in jr. high, there was a girl in my class who wore the same way-too-big sweatshirt to school every single day. She said it was her boyfriend's, he left to go to a different school and she promised him she'd wear it every day "so it was like a little bit of them being together".
It was creepy in a romance between 13 year olds, I'm trying really hard not to imagine that Katie has promised Tom she'd wear his pants so a little bit of them would be together, even when he's not there... ewwwwwwwwww.
