I find this guy really hot for some reason, and I hate myself for it.
I have to say I’m extremely annoyed with Dwayne Johnson in terms of the fact that he is lying to his fans. I totally understand that relationships change and I admire him and Dany for the way that they have conducted their split and their divorce. What I don’t appreciate AT ALL is that he has constantly lied over the last year or more on all these chat shows, entertainment programmes (Ellen Degeneres and Entertainment Tonight to name but two) that he is single, when in fact he has been in a relationship with Lauren Hashain for nearly TWO YEARS!!!
I don’t have a problem with him moving on, I say good luck to him and I know people have been saying some horrible things about Lauren but she is what he wants and she obviously makes him happy otherwise why would he be with her. What I don’t like is that fact that he has constantly made out to everyone that he is single, when in fact he’s in a relationship. It really reflects negatively on his character. He (or his very bad PR machine) has underestimated people’s intelligence. If your marriage breaks down and you move onto someone else (before you’re divorced), so be it. That’s life and this happens all the time. People accept that. But don’t be sneaky and lie to the whole world that you’re single when there is CLEAR EVIDENCE that you are not. I really admired Dwayne before but now he has shown me who he really is, a two faced liar and this is a stain on his character which, if he had handled the whole situation honestly and openly from the out set, would never had happened.
Why did he feel the need to lie?? He's been with this tramp, and yes I said tramp, since BEFORE he and Dany were even separated but all along he's been playing the family man and acting like he was SO in LOVE with Dany. And repeatedly said that he WASN'T DATING. Celebs kill me, ask for a private life but then announce a big lie. All he had to do was say he'd rather not comment about his personal life when asked. But no he chose to lie. He stared out so down to earth and real (unless that was all an act) and now Hollyweird has made him just another weirdo.

I don't usually comment on issues. However, as young, beautiful Black woman who found Dwayne's life and professional history inspiring, I am disappointed once again. I am so tired of famous Black men who totally turn their backs on the Black community and Black women. I even went to his myspace site and he describes his race as "other". That did not sit well with me at all. I know he is mixed with Somoan ( who are also people of color), but the truth is when a Black person has offspring with a non-Black person, the offspring is Black - period! Please acccept your own and be yourself - and not just when it's in your favor to be Black! I have seen videos of him with other Black people and he's calling them "Brother" and acting like a "real brother". I guess my male friends were right when they said he isn't a "real Black man".
Others and I have looked at a couple of pictures of them together and we can't understand what he sees in her. She does not look very attractive. I guess it's the same old - same old: They just want something white.
That's why I have such respect for those who are at the top of their game who still want us Black women and those who are mixed Blacks that proudly admit to being Black.
Once again, extremely hurt and disappointed with Dwayne.

Mel, I understand what you mean, I really do (the fact that I'm white doesn't mean I don't see things or I don't care or I can't understand them). There are indeed many beautiful black women, gorgeous women and intelligent and sofisticated too, just like in any human community (I use this word instead of "race" because I really hate that word. Plus, there's only one race:the human race). The fact that Dwayne is with a white girl doesn't mean he's not proud of his black heritage. I'm sure he is, just as he's proud of his samoan heritage (one thing I don't get:why do you call him only black, when he's also part samoan and samoans consider him one of their own just as much; I just think we have to respect both sides in one person when that person is biracial, because he has two parents and there are feelings involved). I really don't think he said:"Oh, I'm gonna get myself a white girl, 'cause black girls or other girls are not beautiful enough for me." No. I think he just chose what he felt like. Pure and simple. I also don't think it's fair to make people choose only people with the same skin color as them. You can't force people to have feelings only for those from the same community. People are all the same all over this planet, no matter the color.
I know what terrible history the black people have, how many obstacles they had to face to get here where they are now. I've been a history freak all my life, I studied it, I have a Masters degree in history and I continue to be fascinated by it. So, I'm aware of many things. My only question is why acting like a city under siege? I mean, wanting to keep others away from you and not wanting to mix with others from other communities? We're all people. The blood is still red. Feelings are feelings everywhere. Dwayne is just a man who happens to have feelings for a woman. Should it matter what's the color of that woman's skin? No. It's about emotions and feelings, not about the fact that he might be ashamed by his dual heritage. In my country, I've seen many examples of men who came from Africa to study here and have families with white women here and they have gorgeous kids and are respected members of the society. Me for example, as a white person...I don't see myself superior or inferior to another person of a different color based on this aspect. And if I find a black man or an asian man or of any other color or culture, I love him and I marry him because this is how I feel. We have the same creator, we don't come from different planets. I understand that there still are frustrated narrow-minded people in this world, but if we all shut down in our community and we don't at least try to be open, then this world can only be a bad one.
In my eyes, the most beautiful woman in the world is Aisha Tyler. Not Angelina Jolie or Keira Knightley or other white woman. Aisha is the greatest in my eyes. And I truly hope one day I'll get to meet her and tell her how gorgeous and how sweet she is. I try to make people see beyond pigmentation. We must see the people. How wonderful it would have been if we were all color blinded.
I will add one more thing: Terry Crews (he's in Get Smart with Dwayne), a super funny man and another of my super favorites (and the list is long, I can assure you, heh heh) is being married for 19 years to a white woman and they have 4 gorgeous kids. And they're happy. Why shouldn't they be? I may sound like a hippie, but love and understanding are all that this world needs.

But in fact it isn't As a beautiful black woman we are tired of seeing alot of blackmen going after the trophey looking white woman. I don't see white women as being tropheys. I mean, they're just like all the other women in this world. Same goes for the men. Of any color. I mean, bipeds are bipeds, regardless of a pigmentation. Period. I don't understand why people seem not to notice that there's really no difference AT ALL.
From where I come, if you're biracial, then you're biracial, not just black or white. People see two sides in you, two heritages, not just one. In Dwayne's case (true, he's a man of color, but a man, and a gorgeous one too), he has always proved that he's proud of both of them. he never says "I'm just black" or "I'm just samoan"; he always mentions both of them. And that's the right way and I respect that. That being said, the fact that he's with a white girl now doesn't mean he doesn't like girls of any other pigmentation. It just happened to like this one (though I don't find her pretty at all, but in the end it's his tastes and his life, not mine). Feelings are feelings and you can't make people like only people with the same skin pigmentation like theirs. For example, I shouldn't be allowed to like people who're not white...I mean, that would be cruel and racist. I'm a human being, I have a heart and that means feelings. My list of favorites contains more people of other skin colors than white folks. So what? They're great, I like them, I hope I'll get to see them in this lifetime and I'm always delighted to see them in movies, magazines and on TV.
It's a very good thing to feel great in your own skin and be proud of who you are, but don't let this be a barrier, meaning you don't want to mix with others. Listen to your heart, whatever color the guy or girl in front of you has.
You say that white men are not as much interested in black women as black men are interested in white girls. I don't know what to say about that...It looks to me that there's quite a general equilibrium. If I'm wrong, I apologize. Though I doubt anyone has made a statistics.

I was just watching this story on these women Remind you that are not black women but they were from china and i've heard this from other cultures as well. These women was using bleaching cream to make there skin to appear lighter. Now remind you this women was not even dark at all. They felt in America a white women was much prettier and that dark skin was ugly. My mouth just drop. The lady skin was so patched up from light to her own skin. It was just sad. Granted there are more women than there are men. But when you break it down by race there are just not enough black men out there its sad to say most of them are either locked up or gay or is dating someone out side of there race. So i can see why black women are upset when they do see a black men with another race. Me i was raised you should be with anyone that treats you right. I'm open to date outside of my race. My parents were raised in the south but i was so glad that my grandparents didn't raise my parents to be a racist. But what makes me upset with black men when they do see a blackwomen dating outside there race they get highly upset with that. But its okay for them to do so. It was a show that was called True life on mtv and they did a story on interacial couples it was very intresting to see how people still don't like that. Yes, as a black woman I've dated other races and let me tell you! When black men see me with other ethnicities it turns into a huge argument and name calling match yet it's ok for them to date whomever they want. My ex is half-mexican and half black. All of a sudden he considers himself latino and only gives props to latina women. He cracks me up. He posted a pic of himself (he's totaly hawt!) on myspace with a caption saying "this is for all of my latinas out there." WTF? He left out everyone and totally forgot that his mom is a beautiful black woman. I think he feels pressure to conform to the anglo standards of the world. I know I'm black, I'm proud to be black and I'm going to stay black. I'm just so sick of people telling me that i'm pretty for a black girl which means that they think black women are ugly and I'm an exception. Whenever I go to a nightclub that has a large caucasian crowd, I get loads of attention from the white men and the white women can't stand it. I could care less who anyone dates (my dad is part mexican as well) but don't act like the "unfavorable" side of your ethnicity doesn't exist. I think I've seen Dwayne with a black woman before. I guess it didn't work out...I wish him all of the best though. He is still a fine looking brotha in my eyes.

Dwayne should date exactly who he wants. It does not matter what colour she is as long as he's happy, as being happy is the most important thing. The colour of someones skin is immaterial when it comes to affairs of the heart.

Carla - I totally agree that Dwayne has pissed all over his fans with his lying. I've said all along that he's lied for well over a year if not longer about this Lauren , waxing lyrical about not being ready to date, taking his time before he dates blah blah blah, playing on his fans trying to get their sympathy. This part of him has really made me mad.
However, I do strongly believe that anyone, including Dwayne, should date who they wants. He messed it up completely though by having an affair with Hash Brown and then blantatnly lying to anyone who was listening.

I like Dany very much. A woman doesn't have to be Miss Univers or Miss World to be beautiful. There is a light about her that makes her beautiful. Dany has this light. Not to mention when she smiles...I think Dwayne knows what he likes.

To make them look good. In the real world there is no perfect looking person. His ex-wife was a real women smart and beautiful. So its his loss and another man game. P.S. A small correction, GE. Kelly Hu is not white. Rosario Dawson is a gorgeous mixture or heritages. In "Doom" he had no girlfriend. The same for "Be cool". Roselyn Sanchez is latina. The only white girfrieds were Ashley Scott in "Walking Tall" and the strange pair Sarah Michelle Gellar/Mandy Moore in "Southland Tales". What's with this complexed attitude anyway? Beautiful girls are beautiful no matter the pigmentation of the skin. Is it a sin because he has a white partner in his new movie? Just because an actor or an actress is black or white or asian or latino, it doesn't mean that he or she must have only partners of the same heritage(s). I apologize, but I find that a little bit racist (I'm sure Denzel had another reason for refusing that scene with Julia Roberts, other than the skin color I mean. He's too much of a gent to be obsessed with a detail like that.). You have to be very careful these days with attitudes like that. I keep hearing that Hollywood is racist. It probably is. Some things just don't change fast enough in this world. Sadly. But then again, I keep hearing from music, movies and for some time reading posts on the Internet that white people are idiots, dumb creatures who can't do nothing right, who have no talents, no flavor, nothing. And I feel like shit, 'cause I was born white and I have no guilt for that. Or a merit.
I just mentioned every movie partner Dwayne has had and as you can see, they're not all white. Be patient, he still hasn't done a lot of movies. There's a long career ahead of him and he'll have his share of beautiful partners, no matter what color they'll have.
Every time someone states their displeasure in the fact that Dwayne has never been paired with a Black (or Samoan) woman as his love interest they are always asked "why are you so angry" and "be patient, he's only been in a few movies". Well, I for one cannot be patient. The man is damn near 40 years old and these, right now, are the best times of his life. Hollyweird in general has never given the same opportunities to Black woman as they have to any other woman of color. Other ethnic groups are felt to be more safe than Black. You will d@mn sure see Dwayne with a Latina woman before you EVER see him paired with a Black woman and the poor Samoan woman can just FORGET it cause I've never seen a Samoan woman star as anyone's love interest in a big budget movie. I don't hate White people nor do I think they are stupid. There are racists in every race and I am not one of them. I would just like to for once before I die see Dwayne paired up with a Black woman. I don't think that's too much to ask. I guess I'll just have to pray that Dwayne does a Tyler Perry movie...

Black women have never been given the same opportunities as other women in the entertainment industry and it has only been in the last 10 years or so that Latina women have been allowed to star in mainstream big budget movies. And again, Latina women are usually placed opposite a Black man because they are viewed as "less threatening" than a Black woman.
I'm also thrilled to see Dwayne on the big screen, the man is "all day long" sexy. I just wish he could be paired up with a sexy Black woman, cause contrary to Hollyweird's beliefs we are out there and most people aren't scared of us :)
Renee, I can give you a looooooooooooong list of gorgeous women from my list of favorites, all black, and even more whom I admire without being exactly a fan. Forgive me, but I can't understand entirely your point of view. I wouldn't use the word "threatening". I think it's more like old habits die hard or something. But they eventually die. Have faith. It is a proven fact that producers of these films, mindful of the fiscal outcome, pair leading black men w/ non-black leading women. Their marketing studies claim that the vast majority of filmgoers (mostly white, US is only 12% black) don't support black/black love interest, movie looks too "urban" this is why they do what they do; it is not raced based; it is money based. Acutally it's an insult to u; i assume that you are white; they are saying that YOU don't want to see movies w/ too many black folks in them. PERIOD. YOU are not going to spend your money. Dont' misinterpret my tone; i'm not being combative/angry. I just think it's very devisive. EXTREMELY; as u can see by the responses on this board. I don't know what the answer is to be perfectly honest. My friends and I rent a lot of straight to DVD all black movies; their just movies w/ regular plots, regular people, no gang bangers, urban violence, minstrel-llike comedy. Even though their not Oscar-worthy; it is enjoyable to see Blacks portrayed this way. AM i don't expect you to understand, why would you? Just giving you and others something to think about. A minority is always left in the shadow, sadly. This is how the world is. I'm not saying it's fair, 'cause it's not. I don't expect Hollywood to treat the black community any different anytime soon. I agree with most of the comments that everyone hasn't written. We really shouldn't look at the color of people skin. But in the real world you still have alot of people who do. Yes it would be nice to see Dwayne with another race outside of just the typical hollywood white women. I'm a black woman and very proud of it. I wouldn't change it for the world. The issue goes a little bit deeper than Dwayne being on the big screen with a blackwomen. I look at tv now and you can count on 1 hand how many black shows latino shows, etc outside of white that are on tv. I remember growning up we had the cosby show living single martin a different world. Something you can relate to now its nothing. The white shows yeah they may have 1 or 2 ethinic people. But thats it. Thats what i loved about the cosby show they always i mean always had a mixture of cultures on the show. Now you pick up a magazine you don't see alot of women of color on a vogue or instyle etc, It was a story done in the fashion world that they didn't feel that women of color didn't sell magazine or we weren't good enough to model. Stuff like that makes me so mad. Its like now big butts full lips and a darker tan is okay now. Black women and latino etc has had all that for years now all of a sudden white women are paying to have all that so now its okay to have that look. I feel the world is changing a little bit but is still has a longgggggg way to go. So sometimes as a black women or even any other women of color. i think we do have the right to vent sometimes. No matter how the rest of the world may say that we shouldn't be upset. Walk in my shoes and tell me would you think and feel the same. I'm not reading too much into this but on Wikipedia.org on Dwayne's history under his personal life they did state that he is currently dating Lauren Hashian. I just noticed today however that that statement has now been removed from his history!

I noticed too that soon after those vaca pics surfaced, someone changed his personal info on wikipedia. First it said, "he's dating his current gf..., then it said he's currently dating"... now it's gone. I know fans update those things, as well as imdb. But wikipedia normally checks their info out. I don't know what to read into that either. But I've always said and thought, knowing of DJ she wasn't his gf. I've always thought she was one of his many "one's". But I think that when he's ready to show his new diamond, we will definitely know it.
