In this week’s Page Six Magazine, actress Rumer Willis – daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis – shares her personal struggles with mean girls, growing up famous, and calling Ashton Kutcher her stepdad.
Rumer holds nothing back talking about her parents’ split and the media’s relentless criticism of people in the public eye:
“It’s shocking how unbelievably mean people are—not just the people who are writing stuff, the people who make comments. For awhile I read that stuff, and it was upsetting, I’d get really down on myself, which is debilitating,” she says. “Now I think, ‘Do you really have nothing better to do than talk s---t about me?’”
She also responds to the rumors that she’s gay:
“If people call me a lesbian because I have short hair and I wear jeans instead of dresses, then by all means, run with it. I think it’s hilarious. I like guys.”
Rumer has avoided many of the pitfalls that have plagued her peers.
“Sure, I have my issues, but I’m not in rehab. I’m not in crazy debt. I like the fact that I didn’t just get my GED, but I graduated from high school. A lot of it has to do with my parents. They have a desire to keep us [kids] grounded and give us a normal upbringing.”
Even though they’re divorced, Bruce and Demi get along well, as do Bruce and Ashton. And Rumer says she has a great relationship with the “Punk’d” star she calls stepdad.
“He’s so cool. He definitely is a father-slash-older brother figure, but at the same time I can still go out with him and have an amazing time. We all have so much fun together. I’m so lucky. My dad and Ashton get along—it’s not weird. There’s no jealousy or drama. If we weren’t all entirely morally opposed to doing a reality show, I guarantee it would be the best-selling reality show ever.”
Uh oh... is that a warning to set our dials?

rumer has totally grown on me. i think she's adorable and seems really level headed.
ewww......What a horrrible criature! It looks like a transvestited Bruce Willis not nice :((((
damn, she looks quite good on the cover! Keep that up, baby!
Um, she's not a celebrity. She doesn't do anything. Why do people care about her?
She is as much a celebrity as Nicole Richie or Paris Hilton is - I don't think anyone would argue the celebrity they have achieved from having famous parents. At least she's actually trying to have a career.
Three thoughts: 1. Since she's thrown herself into the limelight, she can't really complain that people talk about her. 2. She's proud she didn't get a GED? In today's society, pride belongs to those who pursue higher education. 3. She's not worthy of having an article written about her.
I am so tired of these Celeb-U-Spawn who think they're worthy of everything just because of who their parents are. I dont' wish ill-will towards anyone, I'm just saying, let's give attention to those who earn it. This whole "famous for being famous" thing is getting so old.
I like her.
All I have to say is, KUDOS to the photographer, he gave her a really good angle and she looks great! We all have flaws, so I'm not trying to beat down on her or anything, but having a face shaped like hers I'm sure it's hard to get a good photo taken dead on. As for everything else, the word "entitlement" comes to mind. There was a time when Bruce and Demi were Hollywood royalty, the hot couple apart of hot couples like Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Those kids were with them everywhere they went, were endlessly photographed, I know Rumor has been in at least one movie with her mother. If Brangelina's children go into show business you better believe they'll be famous before they even hit the theaters...what am I saying, their children are more famous than Rumor Willis right now! LOL My point: let the kid have her moment...we'll see if she's earned it in a few years. ~~ Word to Your Mother ~~
I think its Photoshop and not the angle. You can see her whole chin in this picture despite the angle+her obviously trying to sort of hide it with a shoulder. It looks way bigger and longer in candids.
That is by far the best I've ever seen her look.
I like her and all but... graduating from highschool is a big achievement? please... that's the least she could do.
You know -- I think a lot of people like to moan about it when a celebrity mentions no longer reading blogs/rags about them.. saying that they chose to be a celebrity, so shut up and live with it. But I do think it can be quite the shell shock to realise just what people are saying.. the blogs can be REALLY harsh and so can the magazines. I don't think it's something you can be truly prepared for. And what's wrong with being proud of finishing high school? I don't particularly like Rumer.. but I appreciate her perspective and honesty about it.
rumer takes herself a little too seriously but she probably doesn't know any better at her age.
She looks really good!
Ms. spud head with Leno jaw syndrome needs to stay behind the cameras.
