Britney Spears Will Pay $900,000 In Legal Fees

Holy smokes! After all is said and done with the ongoing custody case between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, she'll end up paying about $900,000 in legal fees alone.

In March Britney paid $495,000 to Kevin's legal team.

Britney's current lawyer, Stacy Phillips, now wants $338,414.87 for her work and she says that's a discounted price. But, to give you an idea, Britney's last lawyer, was paid just $60,000 for 2 months of work.

Phillips says that Spears’ conservatorship arrangement, which has
gotten much of the credit for her 180-degree turn for the better over
the last five months, made her case more complex.

Britney's father will contest the fees as being exorbitant in September.

What do you think, is what the lawyer is charging fair for how complicated Britney's case really has been? Or is this just someone trying to take advantage of a very wealthy client?

I knew I should have been a lawyer. Or married one. Sigh.

That scrub cost Britney way too much. That's what you get for marrying a scrub, though.

how much money could she possibly have left? i think they're taking advantage of her.

who can say? If she would have just taken her pills and behaved herself, she wouldnt have to pay and fight this bill.

that is what you get for acting a loony and being irresponsible. She wasted Kevin's times, the lawyers times, court times and frankly her own times.

Altho I am sure all of the no show's with the court cost some big bucks. Since Brit was the one not showing I think she should be the one paying. However it does seem to be way too much money.

How much money does she have to pay off bills like that practically every other week? That's insane.

Without knowing the exact details, services etc. involved nobody can say if it's too much or not.

I work in a lawyers office and I can tell you that there are A LOT of way for lawyers to pad their fees.
Is this exhorbitant? Absolutely. Will the lawyer get away with it? Probably. Unless the lawyer is completely stupid or actually put a client's money into their own account (BIG no-no), they can probably make the bill look legit.
Poor Brit. I DO feel for her, and I DO think she is being taken advantage of.

Oh come on, you can throw lawyers into the same pot with estate agents, they rip you off. Britney Spears was not "acting" loony, she was/is ill. Simple as that. Those fees are way over the top.

I work for attorneys and if you waste their time you pay for it!!! She refused to show up for depositions that were scheduled so she should pay for the people's time who showed up, they could have been making money working on another case. I hate having my billable time wasted by inconsiderate clients. So, NO it is not too much, she is an adult and wanted to be in control of her life. So she gets to pay for it!!! Seriously she is such a stupid sl*t!!!
