“Daily 10” continues to bring viewers all the hot entertainment dish directly from the sources when Clinton Sparks sits down with Ne-Yo to talk about his upcoming album “Year of the Gentleman,” working with Lindsay Lohan on her single “Bossy” and Britney Spears tonight (7:30 p.m., ET/PT).
When asked about the title of his upcoming album, “Year of the Gentleman,” Ne-Yo says:
“What it is to be a gentleman. I am trying to lead by example if you will. There are a couple things that make up a gentleman: a gentleman is diverse, a gentleman is patient, a gentleman understands the strengths of dressing for the occasion, a gentleman knows how to treat a lady. I say a lady not a woman because there are some women that don’t demand respect but a lady demands respect at all times and it is to be shown respect at all times.”
When Sparks asks Ne-Yo about his lack of confidence in Lindsay Lohan’s musical abilities, Ne-Yo says:
“Straight up and down I thought it was gonna suck. I did, I was like Lindsay Lohan are you joking? Are you serious? What the hell am I going to do for Lindsay Lohan?... I took it as a challenge. And we put together a record together for her the name of the record is ‘Bossy.’”
Ne-Yo continues, saying Lohan proved him wrong:
“Quality record. One that I didn’t think she was going to be able to pull off. Again I will admit that. Straight up and down …I had to eat my words… I tried to call her and apologize for the assumption… Miss Lindsay Lohan I apologize, if you are watching. I am sorry. There we go.”
-Yo wrote six songs for Britney Spears’ last album, but none of them made it onto the disc:
“Nicole sang them, Beyonce, Rihanna so you know…”
When Sparks inquires about any animosity between Ne-Yo and Spears, Ne-Yo says:
“I never met Britney Spears, I can’t have animosity with someone I don’t know. I mean I don’t know her I heard she was upset with me but behind that I didn’t really care you have way bigger fish to fry little mama than me about a couple songs. I tried to call her, call her people, I called everybody. They didn’t want to answer a phone, they didn’t want to return a phone call so I said alright well I guess I will take these songs that were written for Britney and give them to other people. Time is money.”

he has the oddest shaped head I've ever seen. Very talented man...extremely talented.
correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Lindsay's album tanked? I don't know, I wasn't really paying attention.
Cool. Lindsay's album hasn't even come out yet.
Go run and get in line for that great Grammy winning artist---idiot.
Why are you being rude? All she said was the album hasn’t come out yet.
I think it's great to be so earnest. I'm interested in his album..
Her first album, Speak, is really good. Lots of energy. If it didn't have the name "Lindsay Lohan" on it, it would be played everywhere. It's as good as Blondie or Garbage or a big-name female fronted band like that. So Nee-Yo should apologize for doubting La Lohan!
he already done it. read well the interview
I like his frankness. Good comments.
Ne-Yo is by far one of the most talented men in the music industry right now. An amazing writer! He does wonders for almost any artist.
I love Ne-Yo. He's so incredibly talented, and is really set on bringing the class back to R&B. Now that I know how upfront and honest he is, my admiration for him only grows.
OXYMORON OF THE DAY!---Class and R and B. Bring ROCK MUSIC back---I am sick of these gold toothed idiots wearing their pajamas and shooting each other at award shows. Today's processed music is pathetic....Just listen to the sh%T live!
FYI: R&B and Rap are not one and the same. Shall I give examples? Rap: 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Lil Boosie, Bow Wow, Eminem, etc. These are the people you see wearing grills, and 'shooting each other at awards parties' as you say. R&B: Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx, Marvin Gaye, Luthor Vandross, Aaliyah, etc. Soul shaking, CLASSY music. That's like comparing The Rolling Stones to The Jonas Brothers. Wikipedia is your friend.
I totally respect what you are saying...I have Stevie Wonder and others all over my ipod...Quincy Jones is one of the best music minds ever...Why would R and B need someone to bring class back to it?
I personally love Britney spears, despite her personal struggles over the years. And Lindsay Lohan is great too, coming out and just being herself. I love them both. I dont like Ne-Yo, one because he chose such a retarded cover name, and two because he is black. I don't like black people.
You are just stupid you probly are black and just saying tht and if not your kids are going to marry black people no they are going to marry africans!!!!!!.
I totally agree with jolene on this one..I would send my kids to africa if they ever married an african..upset25 your kids gunna choke on a big black one someday. Also i love Britney Spears. I would do anything to meet her and marry her and have her babies.
Well, I am 100% positively caucasian, and I do not have children, nor am I going to reproduce. The economy will be shattered by then, and even if I did, my children would never think of being a part of a interracial relationship- it's a sin to mix. Shell I'd also like to bang britney.
I dont like Britany Spears or Lindsay Lohan. But i do LOVE Ne-Yo. He is so talented. Most people say that he is a Usher wannabe but to be honest he dosent sound like Usher. Although i do still like Usher. I have just got his new album Year Of The Gentleman, and it is great. I also have just got Chris Browns album Exclusive with has some great songs on it. I got Good Girl Gone Bad a while ago, and Ne-Yo has wrote some excellent songs on there like Hate that i love you and the song good girl gone bad. He writes some excellent music like Spotlight which he wrote for Jennifer Hudson. He also sings good music. KEEP ON ROCKIN NEYO..x
