I loved it! I agree that she has finally found her niche.

  2. Y says:

Wow, the girl can actually sing. It’s nice to hear her articulate the words instead of breath them. I have to admitt I am pleasantly surprised.

  3. xy mom says:

    it’s a good country song.

  4. Anonymous123 says:

    yawn!

  5. zandersmom says:

I really like it. I can’t relate personally because thankfully I’ve never been in that situation, but it is going to be a hit with fans, I am sure.

  6. sarasmota says:

Now she’s in the right “department”.. love the song…

  7. Nyx says:

I’m not a Jessica Simpson fan or non-fan for that matter. I don’t care one way or another. And I despise most country music. But I actually like this song. I think she’ll do okay. ~ Nyx ~

  8. CapturingLife says:

I really think this will be her true success. It’s a great song, I’m super-impressed. It gave me goosebumps and that’s not something I ever thought of myself as saying over a song by Jessica Simpson. I was never a fan of hers before but she’s seriously winning me over. :D

  9. Ha says:

She sounds really good on this track. She’s always had a great, powerful voice – thank goodness she moved away from the Britney wannabe “whispering” they had her doing in the pop days. I am also not a country fan, but this song sounds like it’s going to be a hit. I wouldn’t mind seeing her do well for once.

  10. Jewels says:

    I like it very much.
She has a strong, melodic voice, and that’s what she should concentrate on. She should stick to marketing her voice, rather than her self.

  11. Yep says:

No one can complain about this song. It is great. Not too breathy, really, really good. Thanks Jess!

  12. loverslips34 says:

she sounds GREAT and has definitely found her niche in country – I wish she would have gone country LONG ago. I love her.

  13. jessicasucks says:

She SUCKS!! What a boring song. It doesn’t even sound country to me. I’d way rather listen to the Dixie Chicks, who actually write their own songs and play their own instruments. Jessica Simpson is just trying to make a quick buck in the only genre of music that is growing rather than suffering declines in sales Don’t be so naive, country music fans!!

  14. michael phelps says:

This shit is horrible. This is not country and any true country fan can see this.

  15. RogerDoger says:

THIS IS NOT COUNTRY AND SOUNDS LIKE YOUR AVERAGE AFTER SCHOOL SPECIAL SONG. YAWN YAWN YAWN. SHOW B00BIES.

  16. Veronica says:

You guys have got to stop hating on Jessica…enough already!! This song is great!!!! Remember she is just a young woman trying to find her voice and follow her dreams.

I love this song and she sounds like Martina McBride or Carrie Underwood…no difference. She is authentic whether you guys choose to belive it not. She’s not honky-tonk girl but she has the south in her blood.

    So…STOP HATING!!! GO JESSICA!!!!

  17. BiancaIsMyName says:

wow, I detest country music and never been thrilled with jessica simpson (but I do think she doesn’t deserve the derision she is targeted with constantly)….

but damn. this song SOOOO hits the mark. Wow.

    I won’t do it again

    I want you back

oh wow… I hope this song makes it big.

  18. Annamomma says:

I think she should have released this before Come on Over. Come on Over makes no sense to me but this song actually made me sit up and listen. She has always had a beautiful voice and this show cases it. It’s not old school country but country is going in a new direction and I think she will fit in nicely with the Carrie’s and Taylors.

  19. Kathy3 says:

I actually thought it was pretty good. Now if she would just sing and stop putting out products for everything, I would be glad.

    Ha-your pic is adorable!

  20. Maximus says:

OMG what is wrong with you people? Her voice is worse than nails on a chalkboard!! Her future lies in a Playboy layout not country music!!
This isn’t about hating anyone, it’s just recognize an absolute lack of talent. Come on people wake up!!

  21. Dalai Lying Lama says:

This is pretty good, a lot better than her pop music songs.

  22. Katelin says:

i think it sounds better sung by rachel proctor

  23. Mizz Thang says:

Meh. Like this dum-dum has ever “suffered” at the hands of an abuser. Like she writes her own stuff anyway. And it’s the same stupid verse over and over. Pop crap posing as “country.”

  24. Emm says:

Omg, thank you thank you thank you for your intelligent comments!

JS is a loser, total geek, had lots of plastic surgery, and dumb dumb dumb, as well as BORING (yawn!). Everyone stop buying anything of hers, stop talking about her, and maybe if we are lucky she will just go away!

  25. kelli says:

if you wanna hear this song by the ACTUAL singer just go to myspace and go to RACHEL PROCTERs page…shes the original singer so i dont see why jessica simpson is pretty much taking all the credit for it anyways, she just wants attention

  26. lisa veronica says:

HAHAHAHA ya think she can sing! shes an idiot shes not good at any thing other than showing off her so call dd’s. i agree she should just go and talk to hef, see if he will show her any pity. no one in country likes u jessica and dont ever come back to texas stay in cali with all the looneis.

  27. notreallyworking says:

stupid in the first line? Freudian?

  28. Anonymous says:

You hit the nail on the head!

Stay tuned for a very special After School Special, “I Was Abused in a Way: The Jessica Simpson PR Ploy”

  29. Anonymous says:

You guys have got to stop liking Jessica…enough already!! This song is awful!!!! Remember she is just a woman trying to smear all her exes by suggesting one of them “abused” her and is willing to do anything to make money and stay in the tabloids. I hate this song and though she wishes she could sound like Martina McBride or Carrie Underwood, she doesn’t…she is just poorly imitating them. She is as fake as her nose, boobs and hair. She has self-promotion in her blood. So…STOP LIKING!!! GO AWAY JESSICA!!!!

  30. operaghost says:

I really think she’s found her niche in Country. This is as good as anything that Underwood or anyone else picks that. Now, if she can do Country without sinking into schmaltz, we might have something going. Too much schmaltz and uber-sentimentality is the kiss of death for me. :)

  31. operaghost says:

*picks that = WTF? That was supposed to be “puts out”. :)

  32. Anastasia Beaverhausen says:

IMHO, it is a good song, and she sings it well, although I am NOT a fan of hers anymore. It is absolutely unbelievable to me, though, that she equated her “high school taunting” by some “mean girls” to the abuse she is describing in this song. That is pretty much the straw that breaks the camel’s back for me- this girl is a joke.

  33. Kelly from New Zealand says:

I really like it! If her whole album is as good as this then I will be a def buyer. I don’t really buy that this song is supposed to be about the teenage bullying Ms Simpson allegedly suffered at High School – the lyrics do not support that at all. But meh, that aside, a great country-cross over song!

  34. bonzo says:

She has such a fantastic voice.

  35. Guest says:

I really really like it…I’ve been a fan since Newlyweds…

  36. Grace Adler says:

Love the song… good for her. She could have a long career in country. Pop star’s longevity is rare, if ever.

  37. Fatima says:

Okay, I honestly do not care for her or country music very much, but I think I love this song!!! Wow, maybe the girl has found her niche. Realy, like this song, I’ve never been in an abusive relationship but something about the lyrics just seem so pure and true. Did I mention, I love it :)

  38. Amy says:

She or her pervy dad probably leaked it. I refuse to listen to it.

  39. hell froze over says:

Well hell just froze over. I’ve NEVER been a fan of hers, not even saying I am now, but this is a nice song. Not a country fan, but I think it’s a good song. I’m surprised. It’s not going to make me run out and buy her album, but it’s good. I wonder if she wrote it.

Now I’m going to get struck by lightning or something so I gotta go.

  40. Mr. T says:

Horrible. The agony. The horror of it all.

  41. Anonymous says:

You can hear a MUCH better version of this song, the original one, sung by one of women who actually wrote it here:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfZmpQiC4pE

That’s Rachel Proctor singing and she shows up Jessica for the average singer that Jessica is.

  42. mark says:

I think Joe Simpson wrote most of the “Oh my God, this is sooooo amazing” comments on here. This song is just okay. And by okay I mean “OKAY” it’s not that great. Jessica will never be Britney or Carrie Underwood or Christina for that matter either. She is pretty because of her nose job and fake boobs and lips (for proof see: awfulplasticsuregry.com) but she peaked several years ago and her first country single was awful. Hmmm… not that impressed.

  43. Janine76 says:

That was fucking terrible! It sounds like a wailing cat.

  44. Dora says:

They have taken it down now. Glad I listened to it at work.
I thought that was truly Jessica simpson at her best. The song is very complelling and she really has a good strong voice. I think this new album will have some treats.
