Jack Osbourne Defends His Dad

Jack Osbourne Defends His Dad

For anyone out there who has ever seen the reality show Meet the Osbournes, what did you think of Ozzy Osbourne? I'll admit, whenever I heard him speak I was just so happy that I haven't done drugs. But Jack Osbourne is sticking up for his dad. He says that the show portrayed Ozzy in a bad light.

"I think The Osbournes, to a degree, tarnished the public's perception of my dad as a bit of a senile, funny, bumbling guy. Yeah, my dad can be that guy, but it's not [all of] him."

Jack is now shooting a "memoir" done via film since his dad is dyslexic and refused to do a book.

"So this is more like a talking book, a really thorough autobiography."

And Jack wishes people would be able to see the other side of his dad.

"My dad's not an idiot – he's nothing short of a genius, in my
opinion," he explains. "He does have huge flaws, and we're trying to
really paint an honest picture of that."

While it's sweet that Jack hopes to change public perception of Ozzy, do you really think he'll be able to succeed in doing so?

I do think the show made him look like a feeble, stuttering moron. And that's not who he is. My husband was so worked up over the way that show portrayed him..shuffling through the house, yelling for Sharon like some crotchety 90 year old man. Not the way you want to see your rock legend, ya know?

Capturing Life, I agree. I grew up listening to Ozzy and it was hard to see him that way. But I think a lot of it had to do with some prescrption drugs he was taking during the show. I saw him on TV when he was off the medication, and he sounded and acted more normal. No doubt all the drugs he did while young have affected him. But he's no idiot, that's for sure, and shame on MTV for manipulating things so much.

Oh please. They made millions of dollars from that show and got tons of publicity. That's all they care about. They knew what they were getting themselves into.

It wasnt exactly the way you would expect the Prince of Darkness to act thats for sure. On the other hand I thought this show was amazing for showing the loving aspect of this family. They might be strange but they seem like such a close family - minus the other daughter who never wanted to be on the show lol
