Hilary Duff's Dad Gets Jail Time
What is it these days with celebrity's dads and their problems with the law. Hilary Duff's father, Bob Duff, is has been sentenced with jail time after he violated, "a court order that prohibited him from selling off assets without the consent of his estranged wife."
The divorce battle between Bob and Susan Duff has been going on for 2.5 years now. In Susan's most recent court visit, she asked for more money.
In court to request $25,000 to celebrate Hilary's birthday, which is
Sept. 28, Susan Duff testified today that the $10,000 monthly support
payments she receives are "not even enough to pay my own bills," let
alone pay for a quality bday bash for Hilary that will measure up to
the one they threw for older daughter Haylie in 2006.
Susan has been using Hilary's money (with her consent, of course) while waiting to receive more in support payments.
She also testified that Hilary was "emotionally upset by the abandonment of her father," and said of her ex-husband,
"I know he's a millionaire, and he's got the funds."
Yikes, is it fair for Susan to bring Hilary into all this???

Better question - why is this kind of stuff reported? These people aren't famous. I am sure that they do not desire (or deserve) this kind of attention.

This entire situation is ridiculous.
This bothers me on so many levels. $10K/mth can't cover your bill than change your lifestyle. $25K for a party than change the party to live within your means. If I were Hilary I would not want anything from him, I would be embarrassed. If with all the money Hillary has made over the years isn't enough to cover a party than maybe boyfried can kick in some of his soccer salary. There was a quieter way to approach the subject of the sale of assets. Here's a thought; if 25,000 of Hillary's fans send her a birthday card and enclose $1 of their allowance the problem could be solved too ;)

It's amazing to read this stuff when I'm counting nickels and dimes just to buy a Coke to drink with my dinner leftovers for lunch today.

It sucks to be in the middle of a divorce, when your parents are ripping each other to shreds and they often want their sons or daughters to take sides. Then to have a parent go to jail (even for 10 days) is though. Been in the middle of all of that. I feel for Hilary and her family even if they are doing it to themselves, it's sad when they drag everyone into it.
