Protests Planned For Katie Holmes' Broadway Show

Protests Planned For Katie Holmes' Broadway Show

An anti-Scientology group is planning to stage a protest on Katie Holmes' Broadway debut next month.
The former Dawson’s Creek star is due to begin her run in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons at New York’s Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on October 16th.
But Anonymous has promised to be present that day to cause commotion and protest the controversial religion.

Holmes - who was raised as a Roman Catholic - converted to Scientology after meeting her husband Tom Cruise.

A spokesperson for the group tells MSNBC.com that the protest will go ahead, adding:

"We aren’t looking to shut it (All My Sons) down, we don’t have the power to do that, we just want to prove a point. We want to draw attention to Scientology, and hopefully get Katie out of it before it’s too late.

The Anonymous group is known for the faceless masks worn by members, and recently picketed the Scientology Center in New York. How will they show up? With masks? This is all very creepy.

Can't authorities take some in for questioning since they are responsible for several bomb threats and trouble?

Scientology disturbs me on a level that I can't even describe BUT I can't imagine protesting a play that has nothing to do with it just because one of the stars is a Scientologist. That's just not right. Protest the Scientology center, not some random play.

I totally agree!

I agree with both of you! It's time people realize it's not a church but a dangerous organization. In some European countries they have to pay taxes because they're recognized for what they are, a money-making scheme. But to protest Arthur Miller's play, even disrupting it, is just wrong.

I agree, I would think they would realize that they're just hurting their cause. I am so against scientology but this is just silly. If they're not careful, they'll turn into a joke like PETA.

Aside form the crazy religion known as scientology, her outfit? Sucks. She just can't pull this off. Grow your hair. NOT flattering!

Her jeans bother me more than her hair. No matter how hard she tries, those thighs aren't going anywhere...don't try to pack them into slim jeans!!!

Vera, it is obvious that you don't know much about Anonymous' way of protesting. Where did you find this information about 'bomb threats and trouble' that you referred to in your post? You need to do A LOT more research about both Anonymous and Scientology BEFORE posting false information about either group. It's irresponsible. www.glosslip.com

I just wish everyone would leave poor Katie alone! Here's a woman who has probably never done anything seriously wrong in her entire life and is totally picked on by the media and others just because of who she married.

I guess Tom has finally succeeded in turning her into a young boy....

She looks like Jackie O. Regal and sweet. Nice of protestors to give more free publicity to the show and their money as well.

They forget this is a free country but they are more dangerous running people's lives and dictating what to be believe and what religion to practice in America.

How pathetic worrying for Katie but not worrying about the state of America, troops in Iraq, the families and homeless suffering Americans from Katrina and Gustav.

As far as I know - Anon is the Anti-Scientology. They don't NEED to use violence and threats to protest the "cult". Every time scientology kills someone, that proves Anons point for them. I'm not a member of Anon but if they can save lives i'll sure as hell support them. Dont be afraid to check out their websites and the information they've gathered. Gossip is fun, but Murder is serious and thats what happens in Scientology. **Insert Witty Comment**

Are you saying scientologists go around murdering people?
