Can you imagine how boring our lives would be without Jessica Simpson? 
It almost WAS after the Dolly Parton fiasco a couple of months back. Jessica told Ryan Seacrest that she just about quit after her embarrassment.
"You know, (after) what happened at Kennedy Center, I really thought I was done singin’. I was just at a place where I’d lost a lot of confidence and I didn’t even know who I was."
But the 28-year-old insists it was Parton’s encouragement which helped her recover from the incident – sparking a friendship and leading to their duet on Simpson’s new country album Do You Know.
She adds,
"Dolly totally took me under her wing and helped me up and over the cares of the world.
"It went from the Kennedy Center to her being a part of this record and getting letters from her of encouragement. She told me she’s never been more proud of anything in her whole life. And I have it written down in her handwriting! I do owe a lot of my confidence to her."
I’m glad she regained her confidence. I really do enjoy her.

Do we care? I have no problem w/Jessica other than she feels like we need to know EVERY INTIMATE detail of her life! I never watched ‘Newlyweds’ or whatever her reality show was, and I JUST DON’T CARE! I don’t care that her latest bf is her FBD or that he is the love of her life! Just be quiet and concentrate on making your career out of something other than tabloids!
she should have used her first instinct. damn, she should have quit! she can’t sing well, she can’t act. she’s only known for her body and her creepy dad and who’s she dating, ex husband, etc. totally boring. but on the bright side that’s more than some hollywood attention seekers.

And another thing. She hangs out with her buddy Ken Paves but does he ever touch up her frickin roots. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m not particularly a Jessica Simpson or Dolly Parton fan, as I really don’t enjoy country music, but I have a personal experience which I feel makes that whole scenario believable. When I was a kid Dolly Parton was filming a music video at Oheka Castle in Long Island with Julio Iglesias. My mom was friends with the caretaker, so we were invited to the set. I didn’t particularly care one way or another for either, but my friend really liked her so I went. Dolly turned out to be literally the nicest person I have ever met. She was genuinely kind to everyone around her, and didn’t have an ounce of mean spirit. I had this horrible bangs haircut at the time, but she told me I looked like a fairy tale princess and took tons of pictures with me (which was kind to an awkward adolescent). I can totally see this kindness extended to Jessica Simpson as part of Dolly’s nature.
Should have never left Nick. He was the best! Such a big world out there Jess, and not everybody loves you (unlike what your daddy says!) Now shes going country? Your not Carrie Underwood either. Stick with the fashion line (its great)
I like Jess, but she needs to figure life out herself and not drag the world along. Its tiring to hear how insecure she is etc, etc..

I seriously do not know what happened to make me suddenly on her side. I couldn’t stand her before but now I feel bad all the time and truly want her to succeed in the country genre. Maybe Ashlee put subliminal messages on her last CD because I love Ash & bought the CD ..now I’ve been brainwashed into cheering on Jessica. GAH! ROFLMAO

She totally needs to rethink her decision and give up the singing FOR REAL!!!! Can’t sing, can’t act and only cute at best. She’s apparently famous for bleached-blonde hair and big boobs – not much else left.
She has always seemed lost. Even when she’s said she’s found herself, a year or two later she’ll say she’s lost again.
i can relate to how she felt. i lost all of my confidence and felt lost too… i wish dolly parton had written me letters of encouragement.
