What Did You Think About 90210 Spin Off?

I just received an email from an INO reader asking my opinion of the 90210 spin off that aired last night. I MISSED IT! I don't know HOW that happened! So, I am dying to hear what you all thought about it?!

I think they are replaying the first episode tomorrow night if you wanted to try and catch it.
I am really undecided. It was pretty cheesy which made some scenes hard to watch but I might watch again.
It is disturbing anyone would try and make a spin off to a show which I condiser a classic. Nothing can touch or come close to the origical Beverly Hills 90210. If anyhting it should be a show with all the ORIINAL cast and where their characters are now. I am pretty disgusted they are calling the show 90210. It is like the OC mixed with One Tree Hill! And calling Erica Silver??? WTF?????????????? The only good part was when they showed, Brenda, Kelly and Nat! The main character Ann..what is she 60 pounds? She is so annoying, plain and ANNOYING again!
Oh wait scratch that Silver part~ I just realized bc thats her last name...lol! anyways I am jsut digusted they are using the name 90210 when it will NEVER be anything like that show!
I watched about 20 minutes of it before I turned it off and watched a documentary on the removal of a 100+ pound tumor being removed from a lady's back. I did; however, find this person's blog pretty funny: Ok, did everyone watch the new 90210 last night? Sweet 16 party with martinis! Jennie Garth looked like the youngest one there! Shannen Doherty's overbite has taken over her oldie face! That main girl giggled her way through the entire episode! I thought she was on the weed! And how about sex kitten Naomi? Whenever she tried to cry and emote, I kept wanting to pass her a Correctol and tell her to call it a day. Though, to give them credit, they did capture the spirit of the original. It did bring my ass back, except this time everyone is texting and giving ****s in the parking lot instead of wearing peasant dresses and chokers and having bitchy slumber parties. It got "eh" reviews. The Boston Globe called it "pretty bad" (Jesus, I guess I could write for them, huh?) and Variety said it was "a pallid copy" of the original. The one unintentional laugh I got out of it was at that whore's party when she had the video clips of herself posing on the monitors. It totally looked like one of those Playboy videos you could buy of Pamela Anderson rolling around on a farm at Sam Goody in the early 1990s.

I absolutely dislike the fact that the main characters are stick thin bobble heads. That's definitely not a good message to be sent, especially to the young girls watching the show.
ok so it was pretty cheesy. The main char is way too thin...and what's with the adoptive brother? Is that the only way they could make the cast diverse? Cop-out!! Naomi looked way way WAY older than 16 - hell they all look at least 21 if not older. It was entertaining and I get the whole modernization of 90210 but I hate that it's called that since I just compare it to the original. I'll give it another go though.
I'm still undecided. I hated that in the first 5 minutes they had the suggestive "BJ" scene in the car AT SCHOOL!!! I would hate to be a parent of a teenager and having to explain that. I also wish they hadn't used a character from Melrose Place with a different name. Harry??? Heck no your name is Kyle!! I really thought he was Collin from the crack days but then I had to look it up. I'm really excited to figure out who Kelly baby daddy is. I will keep watching for that.
baby daddy is dylan. he's supposed to come back into the kids life sometime during this season. he left kelly and then has a change of heart...
Who was the person from Melrose?
It was ok?!?! I watched the original one & was glued to the tv everyweek. This one....ehhh not so much but i'm sure they will heat it up soon. I would like to know who the baby daddy is also, but i guess they want us to believe it's Brandon but who knows? I missed Gossip girl & One tree hill & wanted to know what happened but O well.
Ugh, I couldn't watch it because of that ugly a$$ chick from Full House - her name escapes me at the moment, but you know who I'm talking about. I hated her then and can't stand her now. The show is trying hard to be like Gossip Girl, in my opinion. I won't be watching it.
Have no desire to watch this show. The only desire I have now is to go hunitng for some 90210 dvd rentals and watch that version instead.
They play the old ones every day on the Soap Network if you get it.
RIGHT ON! I watch it EVERYDAY when I am working out after work!! Nothing beats the classics!
I wasted 2 hrs of my life that I will never get back. This show was horrible. They even changed the music to the opening credits and they sounded horrible.
It was okay. I kind of liked that "Silver" was David & Kelly's little sis, Erin.
I taped it, but will check back tomorrow-
I thought it was hilarious when they showed Andrea's daughter Hannah and made a comment about how she looked 30! Haha! The show was okay...but it was the stuff that referred back to the original that made it better. The stuff that the younger generation won't get!
I loved it!! Using the old song with a new twist was great. Annie is from Degrassi (the-n.com) and was good but I hope she doesn't leave Degrassi. All the references to the old show where great and brought me back. Brenda looked so gross, I mean how big are her cheeks. Kelly looks better now then she ever did. I really like Silver even though it took me a second to get the name thing. I hope the kid is Dylan's and that he is coming back!! The dad is from Law and Order SVU- total hottie!!! The scene with Hannah was to quick, I hope they show her more but I also hope she is not like Andrea (annoying). Naomi looks to old and was annoying. I am hooked!!!

Wow.. you guys sounds realllllly old. Duh... its not going to be like the first one. Different cast, different show but you sound like a bunch of old foggies talking about the good ole days. Even back in the day 90210 was cheeeeeeezy! What the heck do you expect seriously? lol be serious.
I LOVE this show!! It's like the new O.C! Competition for Gossip Girl.... But you cannot even COMPARE the clothes on here to the one's on Gossip Girl :P
