Maya Fashion Show

Yeah, I watched this show right before lunch. BAD IDEA. These girls had bodies that were UNREAL. What do you think of the 2009 Maya bathing suit collection? Any favorites?

Vera, did you have one piece of lettuce for lunch?

That bikini would look just as sexy on an ironing board.

Am I an oddball for thinking that their bodies are just blah? A lot of them have thin limbs, but thick middles (eg check out the last one in with the green bottoms). Maybe because I just went to one of the great beaches of So. Cal, and almost all the soccer moms look better than these models.......

i'm not going to judge the models for looking slightly imperfect (who is perfect anyway) and actually i think MOST of them look healthy and not sickly thin.. but aside from that can i say i just LOVE this swimwear line?! All the suits are gorgeous! I love the bright colors and designs, and the little ruffled edges are just adorable and really flattering.. too bad summer is just about over :(

Ouch...good thing there's nearly a year before teeny bikini season is upon us. Think I'll start running again.

it's funny, most women would kill a body like that but men prefer curvy over skinny....trust me! Ask any man! We're too hard on ourselves!!!!

Ok I have a body very similar to these models (I work out 5-6 days a week) and men like it quite a bit, thank you very much. That being said, I have my insecurities, especially since I'm only 5'2"
Everyone bashes skinny women, when really, we work hard to look like that. People assume we blink and we're thin, but it takes more than that. (yes, there is some genetic luck involved). But to people who say men don't like thin bodies, and it's unnatural, that is just as hurtful as people calling you guys unattractive or fat. How about accepting everyone for how they are? Skinny women are no better than fuller women, and you curvy women think you're so much better than us skinny women because you're "normal." There is no such thing as normal, period.

I agree that a lot of men like "curvy" bodies, but what they really mean is skinny with a bit of of T&A (trust me, I've asked my best guy friends. They think someone like Jessica Alba pre-baby is curvy and hot, but they aren't attracted to what most "real" women think of as "curvy", i.e. anything over a size 4 unless you're really tall.) Sorry, but that's the truth. I get a TON of male attention and I'm very slender--so most guys do like skinny chicks too! ;-)

Ew ew ew! Your post was so pathetic I'm sorry. Why insult those women who are over a size 4? Huh? I mean come on! Just a flat out stupid post. Period.

Honestly, they look good, but not attractive. Women aren't meant to look like 12 year old boys. Know I'm probably going to be attacked on that now, but seriously, how many people actually KNOW someone who looks like this?!! I babysit a 6 year old girl and she's already worrying about her weight. This is brought on by Hollywood and models. It's SICK

Anon1284 Anon1284 said:

I completly agree with you! It's sad that younger and younger girls these days are worrying about their weight, when that should be the last thing from their mind. And although some of the models have very nice looking bodies, some of them just look downright nasty.... if you're gonna model bikinis try to avoid having your nasty ribs stick out and try growing some breasts to fit the top you are modeling.. there's one blond model in a blue/turquoise bikini and she just makes me feel like eating when i look at her.... i have nothing against models, hey if you have the body and you look hot go for it, but if the only means you have to achieve that body is by not eating well then you're a damn idiot and you shouldn't be in a business that forces you to pretty much kill yourself to stay in it.

Hello, I LOOK LIKE THAT! And I don't look like a 12 year old boy. Quit ragging on skinny women. We have it just as tough as bigger women. I swear, being a woman is the hardest thing...You're criticized if you're skinny and you're criticized if you're fuller. Why can't we just accept each other as we are? Getting rid of skinny models is not the answer. Models should be all shapes, so little girls won't think skinny OR fuller is the ideal.
