Backstage Demands Revealed From The MTV Music Awards
Christina Aguilera insisted on vanilla-scented candles and four black bath towels and the Jonas Brothers requested room temperature apple juice as part of the their backstage riders at the MTV Video Music Awards last Sunday.
New mom Aguilera also asked for a space heater and two bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne as part of her pre and post-performance dressing room package and the J Bros added eight Red Bull Sugar free beverages, plus 6 regular Red Bulls and 24 pieces of California sushi rolls as part of their list of requirements.
The backstage lists, obtained by In Touch Weekly, also reveal Rihanna likes to chill out with Trish McEvoy blueberry candles, Buffalo wings and roasted chicken, spiced with jerk seasoning before shows, and Kid Rock requires Chap Stick, white crew socks and low fat raspberry yogurts.
According to the publications, the four acts’ demands were met.

i always wonder who gets to take the things like the candles? im sure when rihanna leaves she leaves it behind. or what about the extra beverages that get left behind?

LOL, I know! Or Kid Rock's chapstick?! I mean, doesnt a normal person use one chapstick for a few months before purchasing another??? So ridiculous.
I've always thought these demands were silly. These stars are so rich, why can't they provide their own refreshments and things? And what if someone had put purple towels in Christina's room? Would she have still been able to perform? Sheesh.
Its just how the music business works. Who wants to wash your white crew socks in the middle of a tour. They just toss em. And why send someone to walmart for chapstick when you can have it on arrival?

The radio station was having a field day with this on my morning drive. LOL They were saying that the stars have so many "people" tending to them..why can't one of these peons go do that stuff for them and get the rooms ready for them. And why do they need new sets of things like candles at each place..bring along the already-started ones and use the rest of it up. So wasteful. And some of these stars are the ones pushing the "green/environmental" stuff. Whatever. Apparently the free swag bag just isn't enough.

I agree, CapturingLife. What happens when they leave? Do the barely-used candles get thrown away, or does some staffer take them? I hope at least someone gets to enjoy them after the star's gone.
wow, okay. i might be wierd or something, but the only thing i would request would be water. and that's only because i wouldnt want to lug around a 24 pack all the time.

Big deal... those requests are not outrageous at all. I've read some before about other stars requesting the weirdest things.
And it's a freakin' candle... big deal. It's not like they're wasting something extremely valuable.
Seeing that these people are super rich and famous their demands are nothing compared to what I've seen other bands request (bands that aren't even remotely famous).

Do they really eat/drink before performing? I would be worried about being on stage and seriously having to go pee, or what if you has some bad sushi. I would want water and a clean bathroom.

Interesting! I would order vodka, all kinds of food, probably a buffet table actually, candles, lighting that doesn't make me look ugly, and a bunch of people to have a good time with. That's IF I were rich and famous.
I've heard of much weirder and more demanding needs that each celeb requires before and after an event. For instance, J. Lo was shooting a movie somewhere and not only hired a guy to hold an umbrella over her at all times, she also hired a guy to carry her over the sand, so her feet wouldn't touch the sand and Gob forbid, touch her feet!!! LOL. What a B!tch!! Also, I think it's Aerosmith that demand only green M&M's in their dressing rooms, among other things. And these people that go fetch these sometimes ridiculous item, must be cursing those celebrities!! lol.
