Versace Replacing Patrick Dempsey With Chace Crawford

Talk about going in a different direction! Both guys are hot, but have seriously different looks, not to mention totally different fan bases. Versace is rumored to be considering replacing Patrick Dempsey with Chace Crawford as the face of the label, when Patrick's contract is up in '09.
Versace's rep said,
"We have been working hard to develop our relationship with Chace - and that is all we can say on the subject. Patrick Dempsey is contracted with us through Spring/Summer 2009. It is undetermined who will replace him at this time."
What do you think, would you rather see Patrick continue his duties or would Chace make a good replacement?

I am Dempsey's age and STILL don't get the "McDreamy" thing AT ALL!!! Not a blip on the horizon for me. They could replace him with almost anyone and it would be an improvement. IMVHO

I know they're peddling fantasy but I still find it disgusting that they use teenagers to promote their incredibly high-end merchandise. In that sense I find Dempsey more appropriate and palatable. Still, given that horrid show the kid is on perhaps there is a market for adolescents in haute couture.

nah.. chase is abercrombie. i think a more distinguished celeb is a better fit for versace.

You are totally right. Chase would do great with abercrombie...its definitly more his style. Patrick has a more grownup and sophisticated style and versace suits him better.

This Chase kid is really handsome. Cant judge his acting since I have not seen any of his work. He's got a crush on VP Palin along with Mario Lopez and many actors and men in America.

Patrick Dempsey has that classic, real man look. Chace Crawford has a cartoon-character face. He'd do better modeling jeans and sweatshirts.

Patrick looks way classier and would suit as the ambassador but Chace should be signed to something that would suit him - considering most of his fans are under 16 year old girls.

Maybe switch Patrick, but with a real man! Versace is not for kids, and sorry Chance is still a baby!
I don't think Chace is the best replacement for a high-end brand like Versace. It's not their target market anyway because Chace appeals more to the younger crowd.
I'd say stick with Patrick. He looks better for the ads anyway, and Chace will just make the brand look too... young.

It does happen to women all time. Not a reason to perpetuate it. Patrick Dempsey is more gorgeous today than ever (oftend the case with men.) I have to say, I don't watch "Gossip Girl" and would have no idea who Chace Crawford was if not for Just Jared et al. Frankly, he seems too "pretty". Maybe Donatella has a crush on him.
But whatever happened to the rumor that Gerard Butler would be the new face of Versace??

Why would they want anyone to replace him? Like, has anyone seen his Versace pictures? They're amazing. And hot. And now every time I see Versace, I think of him... which is an excellent thing.
