I Don’t Love The Smell Of Gas That Much…

"I remember loving that smell (gasoline) when I was young. I’ve heard it’s one of the most preferred scents in the world – maybe that’s something to study for my next fragrance. Sometimes natural smells are the best. I really love the smell of bacon in the morning and coffee.

"Worryingly, my daughter Lila loves the smell of gasoline, too – she always says: ‘Mummy, keep the door open,’ when I’m filling up the car."

I used to love the smell of gas as a child. Me and my sister did. Now it makes me a little sick. But I think it’s something almost every kid likes.

Whoa I seriously thought I was the only one! I’ve never met anyone else who liked the smell of gasoline. I remember always sitting in the garage with my dad when he worked on his old car when i was like five because I loved the gas smell. I still do.

As a kid I loved the smell of gasoline, too. Now I never notice it while I’m filling up my car. I guess it is sorta like a perfume after you wear it all day. The smell just sorta disappears. Not that I’d want to wear that specific smell ON me… crazy Kate.

This is really weird, b/c I thought I was strange that when I was little I LOVED the smell when my mom filled up the car! Haven’t thought about it in ages. Don’t notice the smell much anymore, but when I do, it makes me a little ill. Too funny!

  24. Shanhole says:

  25. Stephanie B says:

When my husband was little his mom put him and his sister in the car and then went to close the garage door. His sister got out of the car and he went to look for her. She had her face right in the exhaust pipe of the car and was breathing it in! He pulled her away and she got in trouble. We all laugh at this story now but it could have turned out pretty bad. Total Britney Spears type moment…something you’d see her kids doing.

  26. victoria says:

I also love the smell of petrol (gas). I used to open the window when my mother filled the cup up.
I think it can be dangerous though? I remember reading about a young girl who died from breathing in the fumes.

  27. Grace Adler says:

I always loved the smell of airplane fuel as a child. The smell, the excitement of flying on a plane, and travelling all combined was fantastic.

  28. Sporky says:

    Umm…..too much coke there, Kate?
