Update On Travis Barker And Adam Goldstein's Condition

As some of you may know, I am in Vegas for a blogging conference and had to step out of my room for a few hours. I just wanted to thank all readers who actively kept the information piping in during my absence. That's what makes blogs so wonderful... the shared community aspect and the general concern felt by all for these men.
For those of you who haven't read through the comments on the original post about the plane crash that killed several people and injured Travis Barker and DJ AM (Adam Goldstein), here is a recap. I've also included additional information I found while scanning the web for updates.
- Chris Baker, the third passenger to die in the crash was Travis' assistant. He was frequently on Meet the Barkers and just welcomed a new baby into the world. Picture here.
- DJ AM has severe burns all over his face. Travis' injuries are concentrated from the waist down.
- Shanna Moakler has rushed to Travis' side. They have decided to NOT tell the children yet until more answers are found.
- Travis did not want to be airlifted like Adam... perhaps because of what just happened. The crew had to knock him out to even transport him via car.
- "Shanna spoke to Travis last night. He was defiant after the accident
and didn't want to be lifted in a helicopter, but rather an ambulance,
so they had to knock him out."

After a fatal plane crash in Columbia, South Carolina, took the lives of four passengers and sent DJ AM and drummer Travis Barker to the hospital in critical condition late Friday night, their exes were left surprised and worried.
Nicole Richie, who was engaged to DJ AM (whose real name is Adam Michael Goldstein) from 2004-2005, “is in shock,” a friend of the celebutante told Us Weekly.
“She wishes only the best for Adam and hopes he recovers from this,” the source said. “She’s horribly upset about the people who died.”
Nicole’s current boyfriend, rocker Joel Madden, sends his best wishes as well.
“[He] knows Travis and also feels terrible and hopes they recover. This is terrible news for both of them,” the source said.
Another report from the weekly entertainment magazine's website details that DJ AM "was completely terrified and traumatized" after the accident. He was able to call his mother while he was in the ambulance. He is now in a doctor-induced coma so that the medical staff can perform the skin grafts he needs.
Showbiz Spy reports DJ AM has been left "really, really badly burned." A source tells E! News that AM's "face is very burned" and "more than 50 percent of his body is burned and the worst is on his face." His girlfriend Katie Davis is on her way to see him as he is hospitalized in Atlanta."

This is just horrible. My heart (and prayers) go out to these two guys and their families. I can't even imagine what they are all going through. I hope they both pull through this okay.
I just read on TMZ that the reason they took the Lear jet was because Barker's assistant's wife was in labor and they needed to get back as fast as they can. Travis hated to fly private jet but it was the quickest way to get him home. The saddest thing is that his child was born this morning
THIS IS A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT, MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO ALL WHO WERE LOST AND TO THERE FAMILYS . I WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR TRAVIS AND DJ AM, GOD PLEASE HELP THEM PULL THROUGH THIS LONG ROAD AHEAD OF THEM, GOD HELP THE CHILDREN WHO LOST SOMEONE IN THIS TRAGEDY ,THIS WILL BE VERY HARD FOR THEM . Sadly, it was because Chris Bakers wife was in labor that they were on the flight. Not like perviously post, she hadnt given birth yet and they were trying to make it back before she did give birth. This is Chris' second child with his wife. Please keep them in your prayers!

My heart goes out to travis and his family, I really hope he's ok his kids needs him, he looks like a great dad. I will be praying for him and his friends, their is nothing in the world more healing than paryer......may God heal you in this time of need...

Very Sad...prayers are with all involved. I'm a big fan of Travis Barker and Meet the Barkers...I wish i could send him lots of yabba zabbas right now. I'm glad to hear shanna has been by his side for the childrens sake. He is such a great father!!!
