Diane Lane and Richard Gere arrived to the premiere of their new movie, "Nights in Rodanthe" looking like Hollywood royalty last night in New York. Diane is literally changing the perception people have of aging in Hollywood one year at a time. She becomes more desirable and beautiful and marketable as she ages. Hopefully, this trend will carry on with other quality actors behind her.
A doctor (Gere) who is traveling to see his estranged son sparks with an unhappily married woman (Lane) at a North Carolina inn.

This movie looks like it’s going to suck! Who wants to see this old pepaw makeout with anyone. He’s so nasty. YUCK!
Whether or not you want to admit it, cheating does happen in real life and to not have it in movies would be very hypocritical. If they never had violence in any movie, do you think violence wouldn’t still happen IRL? However, I don’t condone either. I LOVED Unfaithful and will probably rent this movie at some point.
P.S. To the poster who said monogamy is done, I beg to differ. Marriage may not be as popular as it used to be, but being committed to your partner will never be out of style, as far as I’m concerned.
It was an excellent read and even though it ended sadly, I felt hope afterwards. Four days after reading, I met the love of my life. The book gave me a more positive attitude and I opened my heart to the most wonderful man.

Diane Lane is so beautiful, Richard Gere is still nice looking too. He’s aged well, not as good as Diane.

Only a naive woman would dare to think she has never been cheated on. Wake up ladies you do not know where your husband is at all the time. Please I see men with the most beautiful and wonderful wifes cheating with nasty, trashy girls all the time. Not just rich guys all guys. Wake up people 60% of marriages end in divorce, most can be attributed to the fact that once a woman has a child the husband is no longer a priority. Neither is getting in shape and looking good. Time to smell the coffee ladies.

I am glad it was pointed out that cheating seems to be Hollywoods main idea these days. I agree that it happens, but I don’t think it has a lick to do with how you look. If communication fails, you or your spouse will stray. Many couples forget to say I love you’s and honey I missed you today. When you stop communicating your love for one another, you cease to have a marriage and leave yourselves open to affairs.
Sparks books are written lovely. They highlight many mainstream issues in love stories. Read the book, it is very different from this movie. His new book comes out at the end of the month!!!

I have to say in Nicholas Sparks defense, the orginial book, she was divorced and had been for quite some time. I guess for movie sake, they had to make it more dramatic……it was a wonderful, easy read. You should read it before you see the movie!!! I’m excited about this movie coming out.

how sad, but i agree. I don’t think this for absolutely everyone, just a huge percentage of the population. And I love Diane Lane, i cannot wait to be able to have time to see this movie, and i bet it makes me cry like an idiot
cause it’s ok for women to cheat but not men. Women get bored easier than men do! That’s why we are all addicted to romance books and lifetime movies!
she looks amazing, but is she high or something….why are her pupils so enlarged? it looks creepy. i wish gere would lose those nerdy round glasses, when he was younger they may have looked sexy, but now they just look nerdy.
I have to say, I just finished reading this book, and in the book the character Adrienne was divorced for a year, but sperated much longer, after her husband cheated on her. And the man in the book was a divorced doctor who was too caught up in his work. Its a beautiful but sad story and I am hopeful that they dont change it too much.

I am the BIGGEST Nicholas Sparks fan. I’ve read every single one of his books and it’s true that in the book she was divorced. I don’t understand why they can’t stick to the book. I can’t wait to see the movie. Definately read the book before. I read The Notebook before seeing the movie and the book was 100% better than the movie. I really enjoyed the movie mainly because I had read the book.
