Lindsay Lohan Wants To Adopt

Lindsay Lohan Wants To Adopt

Lindsay Lohan stated in the most recent issues of Marie Claire that she wants to adopt a child.  Adopting really is THE trend in Hollywood these days...and really what a great trend to follow.  It's certainly better than the streak of DUI's and jail time we saw last year.  And the children adopted by celebs will undoubtedly have better lives being provided for by these people who have access to everything they could ever need.

Anyways, getting back to the interview with the magazine, Lindsay says,

"At some point, I want to adopt a kid as well. A child in need or a newborn from another country. I’m not sure yet."

And when it comes to Samantha Ronson, she's still not really talking.

"People can think what they want. I'm really happy and that's all that matters."

Celebrity does not always equal solid ground. Look at Sharon Stone, Robin Williams, Kate Moss. Children need to be provided with far more than just materialistic things. As for Samro, she is fugly!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you seriously think a child would be better off STARVING in an orphanage than living with a celebrity who provides for their needs, even if it is a nanny caring for them?

a choice should not be between psycho/unstable adoptive parent or orphanage. It is like selecting between two bad choices.

Thank you, Anonymous! I was just about to say the same thing. Vera, your a mom AND you post gossip about these celebrities all day and you still think celebrities are qualified to raise children? I am speechless.

Is a great decision when anyone, regradless of status decides to adopt a child. The grass is not always greener though; some of these celebrites adopt these kids, only to leave them to nannies while they are too busy to care for them. We only see one part of the story, we don't know what happens when the doors are closed. As for Lindsay adopting, this girl has said a lot of things in the past. Right now, she wants to be a lesbian and adopt a child, who knows what she wants in five years. She is young, young people always change their minds. Lindsay lives her life for the moment, at this moment she CHOOSES to be a lesbian.

so as you can see being gay is a choice, at least for the majority of people nowdays. It is just everything goes and no need to have morals of any kind. Besides, people do not feel like they need a time off to be by themselves. All the desires have to be gratified immediately.
Anonymous (not verified)Anonymous (not verified) said:
wait a minute - are you serious right now? how on earth can you relate being gay and having no morals? a loving and committed relationship doesn't cease just because the other person has the same genitalia. don't blame it on the fact that she's in a relationship with a woman, blame it on the fact that she's LINDSEY LOHAN and she's a freaking idiot who was born and raised to two unstable, dispicable human beings. it has nothing to do with her choice in sexuality and certainly nothing to do with the gay community as a whole. you are a bigot and you should be ashamed of yourself.

are you kidding?!?! how is it better to be a kid brought up by the confused ideals of the hollywood nincompoops?? jeez, is no one concerned about what all this crap does to kids...

Wow as usual I see lots of you beat my to it. My thoughts exactly ! Mommy dearest ring a bell with anyone? Just because you have money does not mean you have a better life. It is seeming much too easy for stars to adopt these days. I specify the hollyweird set because Im sure its still hard as nailing jello to a tree for regular folks !

As a mother and a woman I am totally appauled by Vera's comments, "the children adopted by celebs will undoubtedly have better lives being provided for by these people who have access to everything they could ever need. " Wake up and take your head out of the clouds!! Come back to the reality you knew before you created this blog. Why don't you interview some of the children that have been adopted by celebrities or for that matter, not adopted by celebrities and find out exactly how better their lives are. Start with Redmond O'Neil and then with Francis Bean Cobain, Nicole Ritchie,Wynonna Judd, Drew Barrymore, just to name a few.

Vera I know you run a business, but you seriously need to stop putting these celebrities on a pedestal.

ugh why don't celebrities adopt children from this country? people ignore the trouble at home and adopt foreign babies more because it's trendy. i'm all for helping children in other countries, but we have plenty at home to take care of.

Exactly. Those are the same thoughts that come to my mind any time one of them adopts a kid from another country.

well, don't you know it is not popular to adopt american and white babies in particular? It does not pay. One has to adopt minority child to be considered a saint. Example is Sheryl Crow, a woman adopted a white baby and no one is talking. But personally I applaud her. Minority babies are better to grow in minority households, closer to their roots, too bad minorities are not into the adoption trend, except when it come to procreating.
Gee Gee (not verified)Gee Gee (not verified) said:
what the heck do you know about what the "minority" race does? The "minority" race as you whites like to call them adopt, you just don't see it splash all over the media. The media likes to post negative stories of all "minority" races, and you closed minded ignorant white people believe everything you see and read. Go travel and get to know other cultures, for example did you know in Venezuela mothers teach their young babies to use the potty at 5 months? while you lazy Americans have your kids running around at 2 yrs old still using pampers. Get a clue...

reading your comments you appear to be more ignorant and racist than anyone else. And yes..judgemental as well...

I don't know if I agree with the above commenters. With the people I know, the ones with the dysfunctional parents themselves, became much better parents, as they were determined not to repeat the mistakes that their parents made... No one here knows what goes on behind closed doors. And I shouldn't have to tell you that there are PLENTY of "regular" people that mistreat their children. Hmmm raised by a rich crappy parent or a poor crappy parent....

They may be "provided" for a little more, but does that guarantee anything?? At all?? Believe me I know first hand how f*cked up rich kids are, and as for saying whether or not they are better off than someone in a third world country... well it probably depends on the country, and obviously the situation, but I would give a firm NO in a lot of cases.
Doris (not verified)Doris (not verified) said:
JesseD, I think the point is that kids adopted by celebs (or wealthy people in general) won't NECESSARILY have better lives simply because of money. We all know there's more to life than money. Kids need love, stability and respect a lot more! So while there are definitely some celebs who are fabulous parents, being rich doesn't mean your kids are going to turn out better than anybody else's.

Good for her for just thinking about it; so many children need homes, all over the world. I would hope that she'd wait a bit and make sure that she's stable and her relationship is stable. She certainly seems more together these days, so I'm thinking Sam Ronson is a good influence. Who cares what her sexual orientation/preference is? And celebrities do have the money for the best schools, health care, etc. Being a good parent, however, doesn't have much to do with money. I think Vera was just throwing it out there that children of celebrities *can* be given everything, not that they automatically will be simply because of their parents' celebrity status - just that it's possible.

puhlese..These celebrities are idiots. For them adoption is just another trend, a baby is just like another purse. Lindsay needs to stay in a psychiatric unit and evaluate her sexual preference to decide if she is a lesbo or a straight person and then think about adoptions. If it would be up to me 80% of celebrity adoptions would not happen.Period.

Was it a year or two ago when everyone was adopting dogs to use as fashion accessories and it was such an outrage because they are living creatures? With dogs, it was cruel, but with babies, they're being good samaritans?? Adoption shouldn't be a "trend" and there's a lot more that goes into it than just feeding and clothing the kid. There are a lot of studies showing that adopted children face psychological problems upon reaching adulthood that biological babies don't have to deal with, such as displacement issues. It's a wonderful thing to give a child a home, but it is so much more than face value and the parent needs to be aware and prepared for the additional challenges. A "trend" - ugh! So sad!
