Karen And Jack Are Coming Back To The Small Screen?

I’m not so sure how people are going to take this news. There are reports claiming that a spin off is in the works for Will and Grace characters Karen and Jack. The show was originally supposed to launch several years ago but then Joey bombed and Megan Mullally got her own TV show. Now that those two bombs are out of the way, NBC is giving Karen and Jack a shot.

They feel there is still a
lot of life left in their characters and a lot of comic possibilities."

If a pilot episode is successful, Karen & Jack could be on the air
in the U.S. next autumn.

What do you think? Should they reprise these roles? Or just let the funny remain a great memory?

They were the best part of Will & Grace. Loved them!

OMG they should totally come out with their own show!!! I miss Will and Grace and I always got the best laughs out of Karen and Jack!!! I CANT WAIT!

  8. mimi says:

Oh that would be so awesome! I LOVED Will & Grace, one of my fav shows. A Jack & Karen show would be hilarious. These two were by far the funniest on the show. I would so watch this!!

  9. Bilitis says:

I can’t wait!! I’m huge fan of Karen and I love her relationship with Jack.. they’re hilarious.. Will&Grace were cute but soooo boring..

  10. Ellie says:

OMG YES! I <3 Karen. She’s the greatest character ever.

  11. passingthru2 says:

They were funny, true…but Will and Grace has been off the air for years. I think this will be a failure, as most sequels and spin-offs are. The magic was there once, but rarely is it there again. I think it’s better to let Karen and Jack live on in reruns in syndication.

  12. Anonymous says:

YES!!!!! This is what TV needs right now!!! Plus, they are both SO talented this show will be great!

  13. Molly Mae says:

I’d so watch it. Karen was my favorite character! It’s either going to bomb or be a blast. I don’t think there will be a middle ground. But I would DEFINITELY watch it and give it a shot. I still watch all the Will & Grace reruns on Lifetime.

  14. Ellie says:

P.S. I LOVE that puppy. Ever since I saw that episode I’ve been wanting to get it. Does anyone know what kind it is?
    It’s soooo tiny.

  15. C. says:

HELL YES!!! Come back Jack & Karen! There aren’t many funny sitcoms on TV now. America needs to laugh, especially now.

  16. daredevil715 says:

this would be the best thing to happen to prime time tv!! So excited!

  17. SandiegoGirl says:

yes go for it.. i think it would be great

  18. AnonymousDos says:

looks like sort of a tea-cup malti-poo, no?

  19. Anastasia Beaverhousing says:

I got my club name from Karen’s character who never used her real name when they went out. She always introduced herself as…”Anastasia Beaverhousing”. I use that name on MySpace….LOL! I would LOVE to see a “JAck and KAren” show. I still watch reruns of WIll and Grace all the time and I am working on buying the box set of all the season.

  20. Anonymous says:

YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS! They are Abbot and Costello whether they like it or not!!!! I still watch their re-runs; they should go for it!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. Sarah O. says:

AHHH!!! YES!!!!!! I would SSOOOO watch it!!!

  22. T says:

Both Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes are incredibly talented in their own right. However, they do attribute much of their W&G character’s success to the writers. So obviously they wouldnt be pitching this without the knowledge that they need great writers!…and i’m sure they’d have plenty of people jumping at it! Plus, I’ve read that many great Jack and Karen moments were improv from the 2 actors (Jack getting money “denied, denied…approved” from Karen’s ‘ATM’)..so there’s guaranteed to be moments of gold! I love J&K and would definately watch the show!…but then, i would watch anything these 2 did…i think they’re brilliant and am just looking forward to seeing them both on TV again!

  23. CRHRAM says:

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!

  24. CRHRAM says:

kAREN IS ME AND I AM KAREN – I JUST MAY BE A TAD MEANER THAN HER AND I AM FROM THE SOUTH. HEY, MAYBE I COULD GET THE PART OF KAREN’S COUSIN.

  25. Jack and Karen Deffinately have some Juice left out of them to Squeeze, i think nbc should fully take advantage of that.
BUT…..BUT ONLY if they get the Original writers of Will and Grace to do it, otherwise the show could become a HUGE flop.

So Am Totaly up for it..IF ONLY the Original Writers are back on the scene

  26. 81mclaren@gmail.com says:

I *cannot* wait for this show to become a reality!!! They both want this, they love being Karen and Jack, and I know I have not had enough of Karen!

  27. Anonymous says:

i think im going to cry…

    i miss karen so much!!

  28. Gee Gee says:

The two funniest characters on that show were Karen and Jack. I tuned in to see what Jack would do or say. Karen was one of a kind; but in order for the show to work, they need to get the same writers and bring back Karens’ nemesis. The short little rich man who Karen hated.

  29. MidwestMom says:

Didn’t Beverly get sucked out of the window in the final episode?

  30. CHASE says:

    BEVERLEY LESLIE!

  31. Cashmommy says:

OMG! I would so love for that to happen! I miss Will and Grace, and Karen and Jack were the best part of the show. My husband and I actually went as Karen and Jack to a Halloween party a few years ago!

  32. CapturingLife says:

I would absolutely watch that! I LOVE them! I hope this is true! :D

  33. Joey99 says:

I loved them and if they had launched the show immediately after Will & Grace was over, then I think it would have a better shot. If it happens, I’ll probably tune in to try it out, but kind of think they should just leave it be. We all loved Joey on Friends and that turned into a disaster. Just because they were awesome characters doesn’t mean that there’s enough to support a whole show around them.

  34. Nyx says:

I never watched this show but why not give the spin-off a shot? It worked for Frasier.

  35. IndiesR says:

Karen and Jack were the only reasons I watched. Loved them.

  36. Anonymous says:

    i agree 1000%

  37. Amy says:

They were funny, however I’m sure the writers had a little something to do with also.

  38. Marieke88 says:

I seriously still miss Will & Grace so much! They were my favourite characters. But I loved them in the Grace-Karen, Will-Jack combination. So I hope it will work. I would def. watch!

  39. Anonymous says:

i would shit my fat little pants if this “jack and karen” became a reality. i would leave my life behind to be one of those losers with no life who get obsessed with a tv show. jack and karen were the only reasons to watch will and grace — will was hot and it was always funny making fun of graces fashion.

  40. Chris says:

OMG a Jack & Karen spin off would be the best thing that could ever happen to me!!! lol

  41. TureFan says:

If they bring a show to the fall line up that is all about Jack and Karen I would have to say that I would totally watch it. I agree with some people though, I think for it to really work they need to bring in a lot of the same crew members. James Burrows would have to come back as well. I mean after all he did direct every single episode of Will and Grace. Jack and Karen’s slap stick comedy got me through some tough times when I needed to laugh the most, I would just put in one of the seasons and watch it until I came around. I hope NBC doesn’t mess this up. It is exactly what their network needs right now.

  42. Anonymous says:

omg no way will it ever wrk dey nly wrk as supportin characters!Da show’l b a complete flop!I luv jack nd karen as mch as da nxt guy bt no way!

  43. anonymous says:

this would totally be fantastic i would totally watch… a lot of people are comparing it to the “joey” flop but joey was not nearly as funny as jack and karen and hardly ever had his own arcs on friends, whereas jack and karen had plenty of their own story line… ALSO i don’t know if you’d noticed but there aren’t any REALLY good sitcoms on right now, unless you count 2 and a half men which isn’t as funny as Will and Grace or friends ever was. i feel like there are only dramas on tv now, and i would love to see some really good comedy again!!!!!

the only question i have is isn’t megan mullally in that new show “in the motherhood”?????? i dunno how that would work but

  44. Will&GraceQuoter4EVA! says:

I love Will & Grace I can sit there and quote every line in every episode, it is my heroine. I watch one of my seasons over again atleast once a month. When I read this while researching Megan Mullaly I was psyched! Still am!

But Like everyone is saying it is either going to bomb or be amazing, hopefully the original writers are coming back because it was their unique combination of humor that made the show. Yes, Megan and Sean are amzing actors who really blow the characters away with perfection, but they wouldnt have parts without the writers. So yes, I will watch it and am thrilled about it, when I read the article about it I screamed in excitment, but it’s going to be a challenge to make it as great as the original.

    Can’t Wait! : )

  45. CHRISTIAN says:

WELL WELL WELL IF IT ISNT KAREN WALKER!!! HAHA LOVE BEVERLY LESLIE. WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS HAPPEN!!

  46. ugnyteugne says:

karen and jack was the only reason i watch will and grace :D :D
i wish i was true that they are making a spin off :D

  47. Anonymous says:

A karen and Jack show would be amazing as long as they tone down their voices. On the last fe years of Will and Grace, for some reason, both Jack and Karen’s voice got higher and higher, which made the show at times dumb. If they can go back to their original humour and voices, the show will be a smash!

  48. Anonymous says:

A Karen and Jack show would definitely work, because the two work so well together and are just as funny together by them selves as they are with Will & Grace. Joey was hilarious, but we all have to admit that he is a rather boring character when his not with the others because the others make him funny, and the idea of taking his character and putting him with other characters was a clearly stupid idea that was obviously bound to fail.

The show would have to have the same writers or it would be a complete failure.
