Courtney Love's Weight Loss Due to Gastric Band Surgery
Well, this certainly explains a lot. Courtney Love's drastic weight loss wasn't just due to diet and exercise. She actually had surgery to have a gastric band placed. These rumors were all over the place last year, but she denied them. Now friends have ratted her out...
"Courtney keeps laughing to her friends and saying, ‘Everyone thinks I've had hypnosis but why bother with all that effort? All I did was check myself in and have a fat band fitted.'"
At first she couldn't find a doctor who would consider performing the operation on someone who isn't obese.
"Courtney has always had problems with her appearance and is convinced she is ugly and fat. Two years ago she had a gastric band fitted at a surgery in Beverly Hills. Lots of doctors refused to do it as she was nowhere near obese, just a little overweight, but eventually she found one.
"And as soon as she had the operation the excess weight started to drop off her. Now she is just skin and bones and looks terrible."
I know that surgery has a lot of serious risks associated with it. I can't believe she would go that far just to lose some extra pounds! But, honestly, she did lose so much weight SO quickly so I can't say I'm terribly surprised. I wonder who else in Hollywood has a deep dark weight loss secret they're keeping...

She is super scary looking in that first pic. Why does she always look like a junkie? Is she still heavy into that crap? I don't follow her so I honestly don't know.
She looks horrible. More than normal. She is such a pretty lady when she's treating herself right. Too bad we don't get to see that too often.

I call BS. She's a DRUG ADDICT. THAT'S how she got skinny. She's done it her entire adult life. Skinny = high. Fat = sober. Look at her eyes. Do they look normal?? Nope. She didn't get a lap band. She got high.

um, no. sweetheart, eventually the drugs stop keeping the weight off. i'm not denying the fact that she's a crazy addict, but there's still a chance she's currently clean- skinny or fat.
Why did she get that done? She wasn't obese. I agree, that DR should be held responsible for this.

Very believable. Courtney Love is a nutcase...end of story. Poor Frances Bean has had to be the adult her entire life. CL has always been quoted as being weight-obsessed and views being overweight as her worst nightmare. I read a quote once from someone who had met her through friends and they desicribed her as having a radioactive personality. I have never heard her better described.

yeah, courtney's batsh*t crazy, so i believe it. it's hard to feel sorry for her because she's brought alot of this crazy on herself, oh well. I still listen to all my hole albums though... too bad it's not about the music anymore. i think court will always be in my music collection :)

She so needs some serious help! That picture is awful....she is beyond skinny - she looks very ill now.

YIKES! I thought that was a mannequin. I hope people aren't telling her, "girl you look great". Take her to Fat Burger stat!
Truthfully, if I had the money *I'D* get it(and liposuction!!) done,too! I always struggle to lose weight and it eventually all comes back once I stop starving myself and eat "normally" again. If you can afford it, why not? It's quicker and easier and the results are more permanent!! :)
are you freaking kidding me. if you get a band or a bypass you can never eat "normal" again. you can only eat 800-1000 calories a day for 2 years and if you eat too much sugar, even as little as 2 cookies or puke or get diahrea. you are restricted to what you eat for life, and you have to take supplements for life. with some like the lap band you can't even drink anything with your food. this is not for a few pounds it's for the seriously obese not the seriously obsessed. i doubt she had it since you can't really have scars, if she did that doctor needs to be put away, not just have has license pulled.

SHE DIDN'T GET THAT SURGERY - if she did, in that one photo alone, let alone the ones with her in a bikini, you'd be able to see not only the scars, but the nodule poking under her skin where injections of saline are put in her band. What bothers me is that people don't even look into how anything works before they believe it - like liposuction for example - that stuff doesn't make you 'lose weight' it reshapes and removes a small amount of fat in a specific section, and it leaves scars too!
I find it hard to believe any doctor in his right mind would perform that surgery on her. Maybe this is their "spin" on what is really happening.
Seriously, is that first picture photoshopped??? Because she looks HORRIFYING.
She is using again. The woman looks stoned out of her ever loving mind.

OMG!! SICK SICK SICK! That photo is the stuff of nightmares!
I think it looks like a drug-induced weight loss.
an eating disorder and substance abuse can do this...i am not buying the surgery store and am insulted that others are. very low, even for bottom feeders that exist in the media.
