Don't Compare Eva Mendes To Jennifer Lopez

Because Eva Mendes and Jennifer Lopez are both two of the most successful Latinas in Hollywood, people tend to compare them. But Eva has had enough. She's sick of people thinking she and J-Lo are so similar.

That means Eva did a good job in the movie if you are having a hard time with her now. I haven't seen it yet, but i really want to. My sister and I debated back and forth Tuesday night but opted to see Nights in Rodanthe then and The Women next time. I hope it's as awesome as it looks. Nights on the other hand....i won't spoil it, it's a must see - but....

Yea, I guess that's a good way of looking at it. And from what I've heard, you will feel the same way about The Women. Enjoy it though... it's definitely a chick flick.

Her comment makes me mad. J.Lo takes her career very seriously, AND has time for a family and extra activities. All Eva does is go into rehab.
J-Lo never pretended to be anything but a corporation, she is very open about her aspirations and career goals. as far as Eva, she is a terrible actress from what i've seen, she's got a lot of nerve talking crap like that.

This is one thing I've never understood. You'd think, as members of the same minority (Latina women), that Eva would want to have solidarity with JLo. Even if she can't stand JLo as a person, why run her down in public? The success of someone else does not in any way affect your own ability to have a successful career. Why not celebrate both your accomplishments? Instead, Eva just comes off looking bitchy. At least JLo has never been to rehab, Miss Serious Actress....whose most recent project is rolling around in her underwear for Calvin Klein ads. You're hardly in a position to point fingers. Lots of people don't even know who you are.
They just pick the wrong movies to be in or I guess sometimes they get whatever they can. I prefer Eva Mendes and if she wants to be a great actress, she needs to select better scripts. Salma Hayek is better actress than both of them. Jennifer is more of a business woman rather than an actress, she just know how to market herself better. I thought she di ok in El Cantante.

Who knows if Eva even really said that? I'm not big fans of either of them, but I've got to hand it to them - they're both more successful than I'll ever be. It's sad that women are always being portrayed as catty and non-supportive of each other.

Jennifer Lopez is an intelligent woman. She's not in the entertainment business just to be an actress, she's in it to be creative in all aspects of the business. I love how she's evolved from a girl in the bronx to a fantastic business woman.

As actresses I'm definitely not a fan of either, but as women in the industry I think they both carry themselves well, and actually have beautiful real woman bodies instead of stick figures. So for that I like them both!

It could be a dig or just a statement of fact. J.Lo launched many side businesses and made many lucrative deals at the height of her career--she has a helluva nest egg unless she spent everything, like the rumors say. It took a tremendous amount of work and effort and discipline and business savvy though. She didn't just rent out her name or make a couple of public appearances.
