Colin Farrell Talks About His Past
Lucky for Colin Farrell he was able to pull himself out after he hit rock bottom from doing drugs and alcohol. He now opened up to BBC about that rough period of his life in 2005 when he went to rehab for 6 months.
Colin, who said he'd been "drunk or high since I was 14", told talk show host Jonathan Ross: "I was fairly drunk for 16 years and [sobering up] was a tough life-change, but I was dying.
He's just happy he's doing well now.
"And I'm one of the lucky ones, because -- so far -- I've got out of it."
Colin says the he's fortunate he didn't ruin his career.
"When I think of the work I did, I was struggling so hard just to keep my s**t together," he admitted. "A lot of my energy was going into not having a complete melt-down."
And when asked about the infamous sex tape, he certainly learned a good lesson!
He told the show that when the man in charge of the deposition in L.A.
said he hoped Colin had "learned your lesson", he confidently replied:
"Yes, next time I'll take the tape with me."
It's good to hear him being honest about his struggles and just how hard it was for him to turn things around. Maybe his story can give hope to people dealing with the same things.

I really appreciated how he said he's gotten out of his addictions 'so far'. I suffer from similar addictions and every day is a struggle. And thats not an exaggeration. The mentality that has helped me be successful is 'one day at a time.' The recovery becomes EXTREMELY overwhelming if you think about it otherwise.

colin farrell is one of those rare guys that you never get tire of and you're afraid to lose when you're with. he's an amazing actor.
