Yikes! Anybody know of any divorces that got nasty b/c the WOMAN was the main breadwinner? My poor brain just can't recall any (maybe Reese & Ryan - not that it got nasty - but I don't remember details about that one) and just out of curiosity I wonder how differently it would go vs. the MAN being the main breadwinner....

I am sure for the dignity of the kids it will be quick and quiet. Seriously, they have enough that neither could spend half in one lifetime, probably not an eighth in one lifetime. They seem classier than that in terms of the family, can't believe I used that word in speaking about Madge. But about the family, she does seem to put the kids first. Let's hope for the kids sake they do the right thing.

I cant help but think how the kids must feel :-( No doubt there was truth to the whole breakup rumours when they were adopting David. Sure he will probably have a better life with them than in Africa but doesnt this mean they in fact lied ( by omission ) to the court saying they had a happy home for him to go to?
I would think it would be considered perjury if they have lied to the court during the 18 month adoption process , which they must have . I would like to see that investigated .

Yeah, everyone seems to think this will get nasty, but if there's any word you can use to describe Madonna it's professional. When it comes to anything serious- her career, her family- she's the epitome of professionalism. She's not Britney Spears! Her divorce from Sean Penn, which had become an awful relationship, was even done quickly and quietly, and she was almost 20 years younger then, with no kids. It's obvious she is very protective of her children and wants to do what's best for them.

I think Guy has too much integrity. He has always made his own money. However, I think he should get a chunk of cash simply because he deserves it. why you ask? eh, no other reason than I think she has embarassed him and herself over this past year with the A-Rod deal. So what if they were privately separated...she chose to keep that quiet. She should have also chose to keep her legs closed.

I think he deserves half or whatever the law happens to be. I think she is a crabby biatch, so I think he deserves a lot. Plus, it was a slap to his face when she was seen with A-Rod and now it is coming out that they are romantically involved. It seems that Guy is a real gentleman, always by her side. He probably wanted to be in a more "leader" role in their marriage and she split. I also think she seems like she could shove opinions/values down his throat and if he doesn't comply then she would leave him. I just don't like her. I would date Guy though, he is attractive!!

They got married in Europe, so different laws apply, laws that don't award one spouse half of everything - even if the Heather Mills case made it look differently. Courts usually add up what was earned during the marriage by both parties, and divide that by half, with special provisions for what the kids need and so on, like how long were the partners separated before the divorce was filed. And Guy is not poor either.
he certainly deserves half of Madonna's income during their marriage...afterall she was the one that cheated on him and I'm sure it was her decision to get out of the marriage.

a-rod is known for being nothing but a womanizer who cheated on his wife all though out their marriage. so if she is leaving her husband for him then she is a bigger fool than i thought. i can't wait for a-rod to give her a taste of everything his wife went through. i just can't see anything remotely attractive in this woman. her face is ugly and her arms are disgusting. hell, they must know something i don't. he should get half-she publicly humilated this man by cheating on him.

He is so fricken nice to look at. I hope they can just settle. He doesn't seem like a pansy to me that will squabble over her paying him. It's not like he doesn't make his own money.
